Over the years, Riot’s cinematic trailers for each new season of League of Legends have been absolute bangers. That isn’t the case with the Brink of Infinity trailer, sadly, as fans have been complaining about its lack of heroes, monsters, or any cinematic flair, leading the studio to issue an apology. In a Twitter thread, the official LoL account wrote. “We’ve heard your feedback, and we want to acknowledge Brink of Infinity missed the mark for the action-packed, champion-led trailer you expected and has led to further speculation about our investment in League”. The team also said that they should’ve been more communicative about this and reassured players that they are investing in LoL.RELATED: Arcane And Edgerunners Fans Duke It Out Over TGA Best AdaptationRiot also mentioned, "There were some unprecedented circumstances that had us choose an alternate approach to the Season 2023 video”. While it didn’t mention these circumstances are, the community has responded by calling it out as more of an acknowledgement than an apology.

Twitter user Ashley Kang wrote, “Honestly, I am more disappointed by the comparison of the attention/budget Riot seems to be spending to Valorant vs League of Legends” and also questioned whether LoL has “plateaued” where Riot now sees it is stable income to fund its other projects. Another user compared the 2023 trailer to one that was released 13 years ago, saying that it looks better despite more than a decade between them.

Riot has also mentioned that it will give out the details about its investment in LoL in the next few days, which could be the reveal of its two new characters, Milio and Naafiri. The game is also now available on Xbox Game Pass which unlocks all Champions without having to grind for the same.
