Bel'Veth, The Empress of the Void, enters League Of Legends as one of the most intimidating champions ever seen. A relentless attack speed Jungler, if she can get ahead, Bel'Veth can easily snowball out of control with her extremely high damage output. However, she can be prone to being crowd controlled and will not be without her weaknesses on the Rift.

Ability

Description

Tips

Passive: Death in Lavender

  • INNATE: Bel'Veth gains 2 stacks of Lavender after casting an ability. Her stacks last for 5 seconds and stack up to 6 times. While Bel'Veth has stacks, she becomes ghosted and gains increased attack speed. Each of her basic attacks consume 1 stack.
  • INNATE: If Bel'Veth secures a takedown against a champion or monster within 3 seconds of dealing damage to them, she permanently gains stacks of Lavender. Large monsters will grant her 1 stack and champions and epic monsters grant her 2. Each stack provides her with bonus attack speed.
  • INNATE: Bel'Veth can get increased maximum attack speed, but all sources of damage dealt or triggered by her basic attacks are reduced in damage, including those from on-hit effects. Additionally, she does not gain attack speed from levelling up.
  • This passive encourages Bel'Veth to go for a kill-heavy playstyle.
  • Becoming ghosted means you can effectively tunnel an enemy carry, even through a wall of opposition champions.

Q: Void Surge

ACTIVE: Bel'Veth dashes in one of four directions, dealing damage to any enemies she passes through and applying on-hit effects. Each direction has a unique cooldown and resets Bel'Veth's attack timer upon cast.

  • Can be slightly difficult to keep track of, but try to utilise the extra auto attacks you gain after each dash to maximise your damage.

W: Above and Below

ACTIVE: Bel'Veth slams her tail onto the ground in a direction, knocking up any enemies hit and slowing them. Hitting an enemy with Above and Below resets the cooldown of Void Surge in the direction an enemy was hit.

  • Your only real crowd control. Make sure not to waste this ability, as it is one of your only ways of locking down an enemy.

E: Royal Maelstrom

ACTIVE: Bel'Veth channels a storm around her, repeatedly slashing at the lowest health enemy and dealing increased damage based on the target's missing health. The amount of slashes inflicted scales with her attack speed. Bel'Veth is unable to move during the channel, but gains increased damage reduction and life steal. Bel'Veth can recast Royal Maelstrom early in order to cancel the channel.

  • Important to remember that you are unable to move during the channel, so best used when an enemy is crowd controlled in the area.
  • Can be useful if you need some burst damage or to heal from the life steal.

R: Endless Banquet

  • PASSIVE: Bel'Veth's basic attacks apply a mark to her target, with each second attack refreshing the duration and applying another one. The second attack will deal bonus true damage, depending on how many stacks the target has acquired. This can stack infinitely against champions but only up to a maximum of 10 against monsters.Whenever Bel'Veth secures takedown against a champion or epic monsters, she will spawn a Void Coral in their location for 15 seconds. The Rift Herald and Baron Nashor will spawn an Enhanced Void Coral.
  • ACTIVE: Bel'Veth dashes to a target Void Coral, and consumes it, slowing nearby enemies and exploding for true damage upon completion. Consuming the Void Coral will cause Bel'Veth to consume all other Void Coral, and gain a stack of Lavender for each. She will also assume her True Form for 60 seconds. If Bel'Veth consumes an Enhanced Void Coral, she will enter an Enhanced True Form, that lasts 180 seconds and causes Void Remora to spawn from the deaths of nearby lane minions.
  • While in True Form, Bel'Veth gains increased health, out of combat movement speed, attack range, and attack speed. Her Void Surge will now move her through terrain, and consuming any more Void Coral will heal her and refresh the duration of True Form.
  • Your core ability, you will want to maintain as high an uptime on True Form as possible, as you are fairly weak without it.
  • Enhanced Void Coral makes early game Rift Heralds a big priority for you, but be careful that the enemy Jungler does not punish you for this.
  • Void Remora can be a really nice push to keep a lane pushing, but be careful not to mess up your laners by sitting around longer than needed.
  • Your empowered Void Surge can be used to set up some nice ganks, so be aware of any opportunities to go over a small piece of terrain.

Bel'Veth's recommended ability level order is:

  • Q > E > W > Q > Q > R > Q > E > Q > E > R > E > E > W > W > R > W > W

Maxing Q is essential as it will be your most used ability, and you should max W last as its primary use is only for crowd control, which does not scale with level.

For summoner spells, take:

  • Smite (as a Jungler this is a must-have).
  • Flash (always the best option, as it provides both engage and disengage potential).

Bel'Veth Gameplay Overview

Laning Phase

League Of Legends Bel'Veth True Form Transformation In Game

As an Assassin Jungler, Bel'Veth will not be given a lane and will have to rely on farming Jungle monsters to earn gold and experience. Starting at either Red or Blue buff with assistance from your bot lane will get you going, and from there you should focus on trying to farm your Jungle Camps as much as possible.

Thanks to your auto attack playstyle, Bel'Veth has a very high Jungle clear speed, which means you should be able to efficiently kill your side of the Jungle and look for early gank opportunities before your first back. When ganking, try to engage with Void Surge before landing your Above and Below to reset the directional cooldown. Laners with crowd control of their own have great synergy with Bel'Veth, as they can cover for her weakness.

Due to being fairly squishy, Bel'Veth is quite susceptible to being counter-jungled. You have decent damage in the early stages of the game, but your goal is to farm and scale up into a late-game monster, so strong early Junglers such as Shaco or Lee Sin may play aggressively towards you, to keep you from reaching your power spike.

Try to focus on contesting or being present for any early Dragon kills, as this will enable you to activate True Form, from where you can play more aggressively. Without this form, you are not particularly strong against other champions and can struggle to escape/close them down.

Mid Game

League Of Legends Bel'Veth Taking Blue Buff In Game

Entering the Mid Game you should have two to three core items, and this is where you can really start to power up. Picking up some kills in a teamfight or skirmish will help catapult you into overdrive, and you can begin running around the map looking for people farming in the side lanes.

In a skirmish try to focus the squishy enemy carries. Your high damage should be able to melt them, but be aware that you are also quite flimsy, so have Royal Maelstrom ready if you need to avoid some incoming damage. Same as in the early game, you may struggle to chase people down by yourself, so the support of a teammate can give you the opening you need to pile on the damage. Depending on how the game is going, you can start giving your buffs over to your laners, although Bel'Veth benefits greatly from Red Buff and if you are doing well you should continue to take it.

At this stage, Rift Herald is your primary objective, as it will grant you an Enhanced Void Coral, which is extremely important. Making plays without the use of your True Form is much riskier, and you really need to focus on having your ultimate active before coming into team fights.

End Game

League Of Legends Bel'Veth True Form In Game

By this point, you should hopefully have acquired a decent amount of Lavender stacks, and combined with most of your items, your attack speed should be through the roof. You are now a very strong Assassin and the enemy carries will have to respect your dueling potential. If the enemy team tries to turtle, your Void Remora can help fast push a side lane, so if there is no play to be made, be aware of your split pushing potential.

Despite your ridiculous damage, you are still vulnerable. If you are getting blown up consider buying a Guardian Angel to help recover, otherwise play slightly safer, and wait for other players to engage before diving forwards. You have great tank shredding ability so feel free to slap anyone who gets in your way, and remember that you are an extra carry, your goal is to deal as much damage as possible!
