Riot Games has nerfed Ezreal in yesterday’s League of Legends: Wild Rift update, which also shipped some leaderboard and matchmaking changes. The mobile title is currently in open beta, available only to a select few countries across the Asian region. This update should further optimize the game for future regional releases.

The biggest change included in this small update is a nerf to “hotshot” Ezreal, who Riot claims to be "bringing down a notch.” Ezreal’s Mystic Shot ability has had a base damage reduction from 20/65/100/135 to 20/55/90/125. Mystic Shot’s total AD ratio has also been reduced from 1.2 to 1.1. The ability’s mana cost has been adjusted from 25/30/35/40 up to 30/35/40/45.

Ezreal’s Essence Flux, which had a previous mana restore rate of 60 plus the cost of the ability, will now have a fixed rate of 60/70/80/90. Ezreal’s core items have also received a nerf, as Manamune/Muramana will now have a mana-to-AD ratio of 1.5%, down from the previous 2%.

Along with the Ezreal nerf, Wild Rift is adjusting the in-game leaderboards. The update should allow the leaderboards to “better reflect accurate percentiles for top-ranked players.” The developers are also shipping some matchmaking algorithm changes, though they didn’t get too specific in the announcement post. Riot says it aims to cut down on matchmaking time and “increase game quality overall.”

League of Legends: Wild Rift is currently only available for download in select regions. The game is expected to launch worldwide sometime next year.
