Former T1 and FunPlus Phoenix top laner Kim “Khan” Dong-ha has signed with 2020 League of Legends world champions DAMWON Gaming, the Korean organization announced today. Alongside Khan comes 2020 Champions Korea winner Kim “Chasy” Dong-hyeon, who also joins the squad as a top laner.

Khan takes over the top lane position from Jang "Nuguri" Ha-gwon, whose contract expired earlier this month. DAMWON has an impressive run to lift the Worlds trophy, being the first Korean team to do so since 2017. The squad defeated domestic rivals DRX, Europe’s best G2 Esports, and Chinese underdogs Suning on their way to the title.

Khan now links up with the team for the upcoming 2021 season. Khan boasts an impressive League of Legends career, having reached the play-offs of the two World Championship events he’s played in. The top laner won the LCK Spring and Summer splits in 2019 under the T1 banner, and reached the semi-finals of both that year’s Mid-Season Invitational and Worlds.

Khan most recently played with 2019 world champions FunPlus Phoenix, finishing third in LPL Spring and second in the Mid-Season Cup. A 7-8th placing in the LPL Summer season meant the team missed out on a Worlds appearance.

Khan and Chasy now look to help DAMWON defend their Worlds title in the 2021 LCK Spring season, which is expected to begin sometime early next year.
