It seems that Sony and Square Enix are planning a belated Christmas present for the Final Fantasy fans around the world, as an icon for a Final Fantasy VII Remake demo has appeared on the PlayStation Network.

Final Fantasy VII Remake has been receiving non-stop trailers throughout 2019 after several years of silence following its announcement. The game has been demoed at different events and journalists have had a chance to play Final Fantasy VII Remake for themselves. The buzz surrounding the game has been positive and it feels as if it's going to hit its March release date without any last-minute delays, like what happened to Final Fantasy XV.

It seems fans will get their chance to return to Midgar a little earlier than planned, as the icon for a Final Fantasy VII Remake demo has been discovered within the PlayStation Network. The discovery was made by Gamestatwhich is the same website that uncovered the Resident Evil 3 remake artwork a few days before it was officially announced.

According to Gamestat, there are four listings for the Final Fantasy VII Remake demo that are based on different regions. There will be versions of the demo available for Asia, Europe, Japan, and North America.

Final Fantasy VII Remake is only a few months away from release but the hype machine is already building up. It's not an exaggeration to say that Final Fantasy VII Remake is the most anticipated game of 2020. There are a lot of people who are hyped up for games like Cyberpunk 2077 and The Last of Us Part II, but fans of these titles haven't been waiting twenty years. Even the fans of the highly-anticipated Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 have only been waiting fifteen years for a new entry in the series.

If the leaked icon is legit (and it almost certainly is, based on the Resident Evil 3 remake leak), then that means Final Fantasy fans could be given an incredible gift over the holidays. Not every person gets to go home to spend time with their family over Christmas, but at least they can go back to Midgar.

Final Fantasy VII Remake will be released for PlayStation 4 on March 3, 2020.
