Leaked images suggest that Adidas and Pokémon are teaming up to launch a new line of sneakers with Pikachu and Squirtle as the stars.

Who would have thought that more than two decades after it first took the world by storm, Pokémon would continue to be as popular now as it has ever been? This year alone, we still have Detective Pikachu, Sword & Shield, and the remake of the original Pokémon movie to look forward to. We're not sure where we'll find the time for it all due to the fact that we're still pretty hooked on Pokémon GO and Let's Go!

Anyone who can grab themselves a slice of the Pokémon pie right now should definitely do so, and it seems as if Adidas might be about to seize that opportunity. A few leaked images would suggest that the launch of a Pokémon and Adidas collaboration is imminent. Sneaker News assumes that the launch will coincide with the release of the aforementioned Detective Pikachu.

The leaked images depict Adidas Originals' Campus silhouette clad with two different Pokémon. One is emblazoned with Pikachus, while the other has Squirtles. The awesome looking sneakers are finished off with a splash of color in the form of the respective Pokémon on the side of the hopefully-soon-to-be-released footwear.

There are so many fake and fanmade images out there that we can understand why some of you might be skeptical in regard to the legitimacy of the images. Although Adidas has not confirmed the collaboration, there are reasons to be hopeful. The sneaker creators have teamed up with various other franchises in the past to create limited edition products similar to these, including Dragon Ball Z and Game Of Thrones.

If you're still not convinced, the Dragon Ball Z collaboration was one of 2018's best sellers. Couple that with the sheer popularity of Pokémon right now, and it would be crazy for Adidas not to release this line, right? There has also been speculation that Pikachu and Squirtle will not be the only Pokémon featured in the range. Even if they are, we will be the first in line to buy a pair of Squirtles.
