We finally have more details on Mageseeker, the leaked League of Legends spinoff starring everyone’s favorite magical evolutionary, Sylas. Mageseeker received a Korean rating last month that restricted it to ages 12 and up for "continuous battle scenes against humans/non-humans." Now, Riot has confirmed the game’s existence with a teaser trailer showcasing both Mageseeker and two other Riot Forge games coming in 2023.

"Journey to Demacia with Sylas in The Mageseeker: A League of Legends Story, a gritty 2D hi-bit pixel action RPG where you’ll bring Demacia to its reckoning," wrote Riot in today’s preview. "Developed by Digital Sun, The Mageseeker will be available in spring 2023."

For those who haven’t dived deep into League of Legends’ extensive lore, Sylas is a powerful magic user who has vowed vengeance against the city of Demacia for years of imprisonment and persecution of mages. Used by the city’s Mageseekers for years to seek out and capture mages, Sylas eventually learned of Demacia’s atrocities against those born with magic. Imprisoned for life after killing his handlers, Sylas eventually escaped and began a revolutionary war against the city’s government.

Judging by the brief teaser above, The Mageseeker will be an isometric action RPG along the same lines as Hades but with a more pixilated art style.

The teaser video also showcases two other games that were first announced way back in 2021. Song of Nunu: A League of Legends Story is coming from developer Tequila Works and tells the story of Nunu and Willump as they search for Nunu’s long-lost mother. The game will be a single-layer action adventure, while Convergence: A League of Legends Story will be a 2D action platformer. In Convergence, you’ll play the time-bending Ekko as he explores the world of Zaun. Expect Metroidvania-style action with this title from developer Double Stallion.

The Mageseeker arrives later this spring, while Convergence comes in the summer and Song of Nunu in the fall. All games are set to release on both current and last-gen consoles as well as PC.
