LeBron James' oldest son plans on going pro but won’t be following in his father’s rather large footsteps. On Sunday, esports and gaming group FaZe Clan announced on Twitter that LeBron "Bronny" James Jr., 15, would be joining the team using the tag "FaZe Bronny."

A sought-after basketball recruit, Bronny James attends Sierra Canyon High School in Los Angeles. Ranked 24th in ESPN's class of 2023 basketball recruit rankings, the teen is also an enthusiastic esports gamer. In his hype video, we see feeds from his TikTok account, as well as Bronny playing basketball and games like Fortnite and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.

On his verified Tik Tok account, Bronny has 4.3 million followers, and on Twitch he has more than 331,000 followers. Although the terms of Bronny’s deal were not disclosed, he has streamed Fortnite, Warzone, and NBA 2K and might create content for FaZe Clan on those titles and others. FaZe Clan has seven competitive teams, including a Call of Duty team based in Atlanta that was due to play on Sunday for the CoD League championship, but Bronny is unlikely to start as a competitive player.

FaZe Clan’s ties with the traditional sports world run deep, and its roster of influencers includes NFL’s JuJu Smith-Schuster and NBA’s Meyers Leonard. In addition, the organization announced on August 25 that Philadelphia 76ers guard Ben Simmons was joining as an investor, brand ambassador, and content creator under the name FaZe Simmo.

James has three children with Savannah Brinson – Bronny, 15, Bryce, 13, and Zhuri, 6. James proposed to Brinson at a December 31, 2011, party celebrating New Year's Eve and his 27th birthday. The couple was married on September 14, 2013, in San Diego, California.

This past month, James has been actively protesting police brutality and systemic racism. He wore a modified MAGA hat that called for the arrest of the police officers who murdered Breonna Taylor after executing a no-knock warrant. He has also spoken out against voter suppression and will support the presidential campaign of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.
