Fandom Tabletop and Mattel have partnered to bring us the power of the Legends of Grayskull: The Masters of the Universe Roleplaying Game. The recent announcement was made during PowerCon 2020 and on the Fandom.com website. The Legends of Grayskull RPG is currently scheduled to ship sometime in 2021.

Mattel has licensed Fandom Tabletop to produce the Legends of Grayskull RPG as part of its mission to reboot the Masters of the Universe (MOTU) franchise. Also incoming for the MOTU reboot is a feature film, two Netflix animated show series (the anime Masters of the Universe: Revelation and CG-animation He-Man and the Masters of the Universe), and new updated versions of the popular MOTU toys from the 1980s. There’s also a comic book series by DC Comics that is available now.

And just like back in the 1980s, the Grayskull RPG will set us in the multiverse of Eternia on our own paths to becoming masters of the universe. Adam aka the Prince of Eternia aka He-Man and his allies (most assuredly Teela-Na, Duncan, Orko, and the most awesomest battle cat Cringer) will be in-game as the primary force against Skeletor and his minions.

The game will use the Cortex Prime rules system, and will come with “a digital companion and toolset, a community content creation and sharing platform, and an organized play program that will give fans the opportunity to participate in a connected, living story with other players around the world.”

To learn more about the Grayskull RPG and see how the Cortex Prime rules work, watch the Legends of Grayskull Gameplay Demo recently posted over on the Fandom Tabletop YouTube channel. The video covers a PowerCon panel where Legends of Grayskull RPG Lead Designer Cam Banks game masters a demo of the game for Adam Bradford (Fandom Tabletop VP, and Legends of Grayskull RPG Executive Producer & Designer), Felicia Day (The Guild, Geek & Sundry), Phil LaMarr (He-Ro in Masters of the Universe: Revelation), and Tiffany Smith (Andra in Masters of the Universe: Revelation).
