While exploring the Desert world in LEGO Bricktales, you'll discover a key ability for finding collectibles throughout the game. The Dimension Skill lets you unveil hidden objects, opening new paths and revealing invisible treasure chests. You'll make plenty of use of this Skill in the Desert, but there are lots of hidden items in the other worlds you'll visit as well!
After finishing the game, you can return to the Desert to find even more items you missed the first time around. Many aren't accessible without Skills from later worlds, so be ready to use all five.
How To Get The Whip In The Desert
To reach some collectibles, you'll need to get a whip that will allow you to swing across certain gaps. The whip is found in the pyramid, in the same room as the spiked pit.
After completing the bridge to cross the pit, use Sandbox Mode to add more pieces to the bridge. Construct stairs leading to the top of the pillar on the left-hand side, where you'll find a switch that drains the sand under the stairs. Enter the newly-drained chamber and follow the path within to find the whip.
Birds
When you're given access to the upper level of the market area, use Smash to break the jars on the left. This opens the way to collect the bird sitting on the ledge above the destroyed stall.
Next, enter the tower to the left of the stairs. At the top is another bird, perched on the right side.
After completing the first two of Queen Cleocatra's Trials, the way to the third and final test will open. Be sure to collect the bird on the ledge just to the right of the tomb guardian!
Once you've completed the City, return to the market square and go to the top of the main tower. Use the left-hand teleporter to reach a new section of the wall. Follow the path to a new area of the construction site, and use the teleporter there to reach the bird on the other side of the gate.
Chameleons
When you leave the market and enter the construction site for the first time, look to the right of the entrance. Smash the pots around the corner to clear the path to the chameleon.
After building the bridge to reach the main area of the construction site, look under the stairs to find a door. Turn the wheel on the right to open it, then go through. You'll find a path leading back to an area underneath the market square.
Check the grassy area to the right as soon as you enter. The chameleon blends in with the grass and sand, so don't miss it!
After you cross the spiked pit in the pyramid, look to the left of the stairs in the trial chamber. Smash the pot blocking your way to retrieve the chameleon hiding in the corner.
Return to the Desert after learning the Electric Skill in the City. Go to the construction site and use Dimension to reveal a valve underneath the completed statues, to the right. Turning it will open a door below.
Go to the white cat statue and activate the teleporter next to it. This will take you to the door that you've just opened. On the other side is a chameleon.
Rabbits
When you first enter the pyramid, look on the railing to the right to find a rabbit.
Once you've completed all three of Queen Cleocatra's Trials, return to the shadow box puzzle. In Sandbox Mode, you'll have infinite pieces at your disposal. Reconstruct the shadow box so that it functions as a set of stairs to reach the rabbit on top of the wall.
Remember, you still have to use all the shadow box pieces for the build to be viable, even in Sandbox Mode!
When you enter Queen Cleocatra's burial chamber, look to the left of her sarcophagus. The jar blocking the way can be destroyed using the Smash Skill, allowing you to collect the rabbit in the corner.
Once you've completed all five worlds, return to the Market Square. At the top of the stairs, wash away the dirt to reveal a Hover rail. This leads to a valve, which opens a door under the square.
Climb the main tower (to the left of the Hover rail) and use the right-hand teleporter to reach the door that you've opened. Go around the corner on the other side to collect the rabbit.
Ladybugs
In the pyramid's trial chamber, after crossing the spiked pit, look to the right of the stairs. You can use Smash to clear the path to a hidden ladybug.
Once you've learned the Water Skill in the Medieval world, return to the pyramid. There's a pile of dirt to the right of it, just under the spot where the construction workers congregate. Use the Water Skill to reveal a ladybug under the dirt.
Next, enter the pyramid through the main entrance. At the bottom of the first set of stairs, go to the right. When the camera angle changes, you'll see a pile of dirt. Wash it away to reveal the ladybug hidden underneath!
When you've completed the City and learned the Electric Skill, go to Queen Cleocatra's burial chamber. Go to the right side of the room, past Boo's shop. On the right, you'll see a teleporter. Use it, and when you reach the other side use the Dimension Skill to reveal another one. Follow the path beyond, and you'll find a ladybug waiting for you.
Hermit Crabs
Look for a narrow path that leads behind the pyramid - there's a crab hidden back there.
Once you've gotten the whip, use it to reach the area below the right-hand stairs near the spiked pit. Look around the corner to find a crab.
Check to the right of Queen Cleocatra's sarcophagus in the burial chamber to find another hermit crab.
Once you've completed the Caribbean, go to the top of the main tower in the Market Square. Use the left-hand teleporter, and then activate the Dimension Skill to reveal a Hover rail about halfway to the corner of the wall. Ride the rail to reach the hermit crab below.
Chests
The first chest in the Desert is given as a reward for completing the Skill Temple. Be sure to open it on your way out!
After leaving the Skill Temple, use Dimension to reveal a chest near the cement mixer at the construction site.
When you first enter the pyramid, use the Dimension Skill to the left of the stairs to reveal an invisible treasure chest.
After draining the sand from the first chamber of the pyramid, go to the right at the bottom of the stairs. You'll find some jars to break, opening the way to a chest.
In the same area, use Dimension to reveal a switch at the bottom of the stairs, to the left. Activating the switch lowers the chest above, letting you reach it.
When you return to the market square and gain access to the upper level, look to the right of the stairs. There's a chest hidden there, obscured by palm trees. Use the Smash Skill to destroy the jars blocking your path.
After building a bridge to cross the spiked pit, return to the puzzle and enter Sandbox Mode. Use all the pieces you need to create an extension to the bridge leading up and to the right, where you'll find a chest.
Accessible After Completing The City
Once you learn the Electricity Skill in the City, return to the desert construction site. Look around the corner to the left of the main entrance from the market square, and you'll find a teleporter. Use it to reach a previously-inaccessible chest.

If you haven't already collected the whip, do so before attempting to get this chest. Use Dimension in the lower-right corner of the construction site to reveal a valve that will open a door underneath. Go to the teleporter near the white cat statue and use it to reach the door. On the other side, you can use the whip to reach a chest.
In the spiked pit chamber of the pyramid, use the whip to reach the lower level to the right of the main stairs. Follow the narrow path along the edge of the map and use the Water Skill to remove the dirt across the pit at the end. This will reveal and activate a teleporter.
Return to the room's entrance and look to the left, behind the wall - you'll see a teleporter that leads to the one you just uncovered. Use it and follow the path to find a wheel. Turning the wheel opens the way to the chest to the left of the spiked pit.
In the Market Square, climb to the top of the tower and use the teleporter on the left. Follow the path to the walls of the construction site, and use the teleporter there to reach the other side of the gate. It's hard to see, but there's a blue arrow behind the dome that will take you back to the square. Once there, use a third teleporter to reach the area next to the locked tower. Reveal the valve with Dimension and use it to open the door. Make your way all the way back to the main area of the Market Square, and go through the door to reach the top of the right-hand tower, where you'll be rewarded with a treasure chest.
Accessible After Completing The Caribbean
In Queen Cleocatra's burial chamber, walk to the right of Boo's shop. When the camera angle changes, it will reveal a Hover rail on the left. Use it to reach the area under the stairs, where you can use Smash to reach the chest.
Once you've found every ladybug in the game, visit the gardener under the bridge. You'll receive the Desert's final chest as a reward.
