By the time your reach the Medieval world, the third area you'll visit in LEGO Bricktales, you'll have two critical Skills available. These will help you easily snag collectibles as you find them throughout your adventure in the Middle Ages. There are more Skills to learn, though, so there will still be a handful of collectibles that you'll have to come back for.
This guide includes the locations of every animal and chest in the Medieval setting, as well as the Skills you'll need in order to retrieve them. Maybe you'll need a royal treasury of your own!
How To Get The Whip In The Medieval World
The Medieval whip is hidden in a secret passage in the caves under the Dragon's Valley. Instead of taking the direct route up, go past the ladders where you'll see a large chest - you won't be able to reach it just yet. To the south are some stairs. At the bottom of the stairs, turn left to walk down a hallway that's entirely obscured by the camera angle. At the end of the hallway is the whip, and you can keep following the path to find more treasures.
Birds
As soon as you enter the Medieval world, look on the wall down and to the right from the well. You'll find a bird perched there.
When you emerge at the top of the caves in the Dragon's Valley, look to the right to find a bird perched on a ledge.
It's easy to be distracted by the chests on the upper level of the King's treasury - be sure not to miss the bird sitting on the ledge next to them!
After completing all five worlds, use Dimension to reveal a Hover rail just outside the town gate, immediately before you enter the Dragon's Valley. The rail leads up to a parapet, where you can use Dimension again to reveal a valve on the right-hand side. The valve opens a gate on the tower where you helped the Royal Architect.
Climb the castle stairs to reach the tower and go through the now-open door. There is a bird sitting on the crenellations in the corner, just south of the guard.
Chameleons
When you first enter the castle, go upstairs and use Smash to retrieve the chameleon in the corner.
In the caves, use the secret passage that leads to the whip (see above). Continue along the passage, using Smash to clear the way, and you'll find a chameleon just before the stairs.
Use the Dimension Skill to the right of the Wizard's table to reveal a valve. It opens the way to his basement, where you can use Smash to reach a chameleon.
When you have the whip and all five Skills, return to the town and go to the coal cart you built earlier. Follow the tracks around the corner, and when the camera angle changes use Dimension to reveal a Hover rail near the edge of the map.
Ride the rail to a secret area under the town, where you can use the whip to reach a chameleon. You can also uncover a teleporter at the far end of the hover rail that will take you quickly back to the main square!
Ladybugs
In the caves under the Dragon's Valley, be on the lookout for a ladybug along the main path. It will be next to a green bush in a corner.
There's a ladybug in the King's treasury, to the right of the main stairs. The block obstructing it can be destroyed using Smash.

After obtaining the Water Skill, climb down the ladder at the bottom of the stairs in the Dragon's Valley. You'll see a pile of dirt to the right, partially obscured by the cliff. Wash it away to reveal a ladybug.
Look on the right side of the throne room for a pile of dirt that can be removed using the Water Skill. There's a ladybug underneath.
Rabbits
Exploring around the edge of the Dragon's Valley, you'll find a long, narrow path that winds its way to a magician's hideout near the bottom of the map. Walk past the magician to find one of his missing rabbits!
Leave the King's treasury through the side door at the bottom of the stairs. On the other side, you'll immediately see a rabbit that can be reached by using Smash to destroy the blocks in your way.
After learning the Water Skill, clean up the dirt to the right of the entrance in the Wizard's house to find a rabbit underneath.
After you've learned the Electricity Skill in the City, return to the Medieval world and go to the caves in the Dragon's Valley. Near the large chest in the center of the caves is a partially-obscured staircase leading south to a seemingly-dead end. Use Dimension to reveal a teleporter there, and use it to reach the hidden rabbit.
Hermit Crabs
A hermit crab can be collected as soon as you arrive in the Medieval world for the first time. Look behind the chicken coop in the village to find it.
Once you've gotten the whip, return to the entrance of the caves. You'll be able to climb to a platform where a hermit crab waits.
Once you've finished the City, return to the Medieval world to use the Electricity Skill there. In the castle's entry chamber, to the left of the feast table, is a teleporter. Use it to reach the crab above the throne room doors.
After learning Hover in the Caribbean, go to the Dragon's Valley. At the bottom of the stairs, climb down the ladder to get under the bridge you built earlier. Use Dimension near the water's edge, just to the right of the sword in the stone, to reveal a Hover rail, which you can ride to a hidden crab.
Chests
The first chest in the Medieval world is immediately to the left of the starting point, by the town gate. Smash the block in your way to reach it.
In the Dragon's Valley, climb down under the stone bridge you built and follow the path around the edge of the map. You'll meet a magician in black robes. Walk past him and go to the next area using the blue arrow at the end of the path.
On the next screen, use Smash to reach the inset beyond. There, you can use the Dimension Skill to reveal a chest.
Just past the gate in the Dragon's Valley, use Dimension to the right of the stairs to reveal a hidden chest. You'll need to go through the caves to reach this area for the first time; after that, you can open the gate with the nearby lever.
The second floor of the King's treasury has three chests, but the two on the floor are empty. Use the Water Skill to reveal a switch on the lower level, to the left of Boo's shop entrance, which will bring the third chest down to where you can reach it.
In the Wizard's house, use Dimension on the alcove to the left of the table to reveal a hidden treasure chest.
Use the Dimension Skill to reveal a valve next to the Wizard in his house. It opens the door to his basement, where you'll find a chest and a chameleon!
Like every Skill Temple, the magical spring has a treasure chest inside. You'll be able to collect it to the right of the exit after completing the challenge, so don't miss it!
In the treasury, use the whip to reach the lower level to the right of Boo's shop. There's a chest down there just waiting to be plundered - and best of all, you can spend the money right away at the nearby store!
Attainable After Completing The City
When the King lets you into his treasury vault, you'll see a door at the bottom of the stairs. Go through it and follow the path to the end; you'll be able to wash away a pile of dirt using the Water Skill, but you won't be able to reach the teleporter that's revealed.
Once you have the Electricity Skill from the City, use the teleporter to the right of the throne to reach the pad you washed off. On the other side is the King's secret stash, including a treasure chest!
Enter the caves in the Dragon's Valley from the lower entrance. Use the whip to reach the platform to the right, and turn the valve there if you haven't already. This lowers the gate to a teleporter near the top of the room's main ladders.
Climb to the teleporter and activate it using the Electricity Skill. It will take you to a lever that will lower the chest in the large room at the bottom of the ladders.
Attainable After Completing The Caribbean
Once you've finished all five worlds, return to the dragon's tower. There's a Hover rail to the right, which leads to a valve that will open the gate next to the Skill Temple Entrance. Inside the gate is a teleporter, which takes you to the top of the tower. There, you'll find a treasure chest... assuming you're brave enough to open it with the dragon watching, that is!
Inside the caves under the Dragon's Valley, use the secret passage that leads to the whip. Follow it all the way to the end, and at the top of the stairs you'll see a Hover rail. Ride it to the top of the room, where you'll find a valve that opens a gate elsewhere in the chamber.
Use the teleporter to the right of the lower entrance (the one that leads to the sword in the stone under the bridge), and it will take you to a ladder. Climb the ladder to reach the chest behind the opened gate.
Once you've collected all twenty rabbits in the game, bring them to the Impostor Wizard who lives at the bottom of the Dragon's Valley. He'll reward you with a large treasure chest.
