It only took about eight years, but Lego Marvel Super Heroes has finally landed on the Nintendo Switch. Warner Bros. Games, in partnership with TT Games, The Lego Group, and Marvel Entertainment, announced that its critically acclaimed Lego superhero adventure will be available for download on Switch consoles beginning today.

Lego Marvel Super Heroes originally released back in 2013 and has since been ported to almost every available platform. Featuring generally positive reviews, the game introduces a brand new, kid-friendly story that spans the entire Marvel Universe. With over 180 different Marvel superheroes to choose from, players must team up with iconic Marvel villains to stop Doctor Doom from powering up his “Doom Ray of Doom” and destroying the universe.

As players work to put an end to Doom’s plot, they will use Marvel’s best and bravest to show off their super skills by using weapons like Captain America’s shield, Thor’s hammer, and Hawkeye’s bow. Or players can use some of the super abilities certain characters possess like Doctor Strange’s magical powers, Ant-Man’s shrinking ability, Jean Grey’s mind-control, or the razor-sharp claws of Black Panther and Beast.

Blending movie with comic-book, players will also travel to some of Marvel’s most legendary locations like Stark Tower, the Daily Bugle, and the X-Mansion. They will also get to see some of the more distant locations of the Marvel Universe like Thor’s home of Asgard, Magneto’s Asteroid M, and Doom’s castle in Latveria.

Way back in January of this year, it was rumored that the Switch port of Lego Marvel Super Heroes would be arriving soon after a new listing appeared on a rating board. That rumor went unconfirmed until a few months ago when it was revealed that the game would finally be joining its sequel on the Switch in October.

The version of Lego Marvel Super Heroes for Switch will also include several previously released DLC packs including the Marvel Super Heroes Super Pack and Asgard Pack. The Super Pack adds more villains and heroes to the game like Dark Phoenix, Winter Soldier, Symbiote Spider-Man, Hawkeye, Falcon, and Beta Ray Bill. It also adds new vehicles and races to jump in on. Meanwhile, the Asgard Pack lets players wreak havoc as Malekith and the evil Kurse. Or players can try to save the world as Jane Foster, Sif, Odin, and the Warriors Three: Volstagg, Hogun, and Fandral.

Lego Marvel Super Heroes is available now for Switch consoles. It is also available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
