These LEGO slippers are designed to let you get up in the morning without the fear of stepping on a tiny plastic landmine before you’ve had your coffee.

If you have kids who are LEGO fans, then you know that no matter how hard you try, there will be LEGO scattered all over your house. And that means at any point in your day you could become paralyzed in horrific pain thanks to one of those little plastic caltrops.

Scientists have discovered that LEGO is actually the perfect device to prevent home intrusion. Because each block is covered in needle-sharp edges and made of ultra-hard plastic, there is basically no way to protect yourself from their terrible scourge.

Until now.

It’s called the Anti-LEGO Slipper, and as the name implies, it lets you walk on LEGO without immediately crumpling to the floor and clutching at the bloody stumps that used to be your feet. They’re made of ultra-dense memory foam and have a rubber sole to prevent those sharp edges from ever contacting your delicate tootsies. The rest is covered in fuzzy fluff so that your feet can feel the warm embrace of comfort instead of the cold embrace of death.

LEGO partnered with French advertising agency Brand Station to produce a limited run of just 1,500 slippers. You might be thinking that sounds like not nearly enough slippers to adorn the feet of the millions of parents who might need them, and you'd be right. A random lottery system was used to give away these slippers on the French LEGO website, and since we didn't get this fantastic product news from a time traveler, we didn't have nearly enough time to start mashing the LEGO website until we got our names on the list.

You might be able to find a pair of these slippers on eBay or some other used-clothing retailer, but expect to pay a serious premium for them. They're a literal godsend and we can't imagine why LEGO hasn't made them a regular product.

Your next best bet is a pair of crocs, but it's just not the same.
