A modder is currently working on adding character customisation to Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.

Although most players seem pretty happy with Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, there are some things that are missing or could be tweaked. One of the biggest is the lack of character customisation, a staple of the Lego series since Lego Star Wars 2: The Original Trilogy. The lack of character customisation has been known for some time now, but one dedicated fan has started working on a mod that adds it back in.

Modder jedijosh920 shared a video on YouTube that shows a preview of character customisation through a randomizer test. The description of the mod refers to it as a "script mod", and there currently isn't a way to download it from jediijosh920, which isn't too much of a surprise considering that other mods on their YouTube channel, such as being able to play as Doc Ock in Spider-Man, haven't been made public.

The video shows off the character customization in action, as jediijosh920 is seen randomising the parts of the character they're currently playing as. The mod opens up a custom menu that offers the option to "randomise all", toggle a "hologram", go "giant mode", and reset the character.

It's a pretty impressive mod, as jediijosh920 is shown randomly flicking through a bunch of different character parts at once. Some of the options cause parts of the figure to go missing, which is presumably because the character it chooses isn't the right height or size. The hologram mode and giant mode are also shown off, with one making the character look like a hologram, and the other turning them massive.

It's not clear if jediijosh920 plans to release the mod or if they're working on a non-random character creator, but it's interesting to see a fan bring in a massively requested feature that wasn't included in the base game. At the very least, it looks like The Skywalker Saga can handle a custom character being in the game.
