All the devs need to do now is to polish the game up and add the finishing touches before it goes out to retailers and digital storefronts.This news was announced via the official Lego Star Wars Twitter account, bringing forth a wave of hype from excited Star Wars and Lego fans. The tweet in question congratulates developers at TT Games for their hard work over the course of development and explains what going gold actually means.Just to clarify, a game going gold mean that it's ready to ship, but it doesn't mean that work on the game has ceased. Developers at TT games will still be hard at work getting the game over the finish line, polishing the game and working on potential day one patches that can be sent out via updates. Hopefully, then developers can have a nice long break as reports suggest that development of Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga has been anything but smooth.
According to a report from last month, TT Games has somewhat of a toxic workplace environment, accusing co-founder Jon Burton and other lead figures of shouting at employees who simply attempted to leave work when they were supposed to. Upper management also apparently has a pretty nasty attitude towards crunch, with employees claiming that projects are usually planned with "crunch periods in the schedule."
Let's hope that working conditions at TT Games improve once Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is out the door on April 5. The game will launch on most systems including PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and even Nintendo Switch.
