Datacard Stud Multipliers

A floating datacard ready to be gathered

In Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, you can find datacards in certain stages. You can use these cards, alongside studs, to gain certain benefits. One of the best uses of datacards is to buy the stud multipliers. Without question, if you are looking to make a boatload of studs, you want to get your hands on these multipliers as quickly as humanly possible. They are priced as such…

X2

1,000,000

X4

2,000,000

X6

8,000,000

X8

48,000,000

X10

384,000,000

Obviously, you will be priced out of these in the early parts of the game. However, even just having the X2 multiplier will very, very quickly pay for itself, so you are going to want to save up for that. The best part is, they stack! That’s right; if you have the X2 and the X4 you will have an X8 multiplier. Combine having that multiplier with running one of the more lucrative story missions and you will very quickly get all the studs you will need.

You cannot buy any of these datacards without first finding a blank one in a level. So, here are five very easy datacards that can be found pretty early in the game. We included a few datacards located in early missions from all three of the trilogies. So, no matter which game you choose to start your adventure with, you will be able to snag one of these early.

Jakku - Niima Outpost

Niima Outpost Datacard

There is a datacard just sitting in a giant cylinder on the northwest side of the map. Easy as pie.

Tatooine - Mos Espa

Mos Espa Datacard

In the north section of the map, behind a row of houses, one of them is wide open and has a datacard inside.

Tatooine - Mos Eisley

Mos Eisley Datacard

There is a datacard in the northeast section sitting under an awning. Just use a force user to lift up a droid to where the datacard is and then switch to the droid to snatch it.

Tatooine - Jundland Wastes

Jundland Wastes Datacard

Use a lightsaber user to climb up the lightsaber wall behind Obi-Wan’s house. Just continue along the pathway, hugging the side of the mountain, and using the poles sticking out of the walls to swing across the gaps until you see a giant round building. Do not cross the chasm using the plank, just keep hugging the wall and making your way along the mountainside! The datacard is directly in front of it.

Yavin 4 - Great Temple

Great Temple Datacard

In the hangar, there is a datacard sitting on top of a bridge. Jump up there using nearby junk and grab onto the handles lining the side to climb up.

A Bigger Fish

Lego Star Wars Skywalker Saga, Episode 1, A Bigger Fish

This isn’t the best mission for gaining studs in the game, but it is still the most lucrative mission that is available in a starter episode. This positions it as an ideal pick for early-game stud farming. Especially for people who have decided to work their way through the game starting with Episode 1.

The key here is to avoid hitting the monsters and focus on hitting the stud bubbles that appear on the sides of the screen. You can easily earn 100,000 studs on this stage in a relatively short amount of time. The only downside of the Bigger Fish mission is that the torpedoes are difficult to aim, which makes hitting the bubbles a bit of a pain in the butt.

A Skip And A Jump

Dodging Enemy Fire

This is it. This is the very best mission in the game for earning studs. You can complete A Skip And A Jump in two minutes, and you will get around 100,000 studs in the process. It is easily the fastest of the more lucrative missions, which makes it ideal for stud farming. The only downside here is that it is hidden away in Episode 9. Which, you know, requires that you beat both Episode 7 and Episode 8 before you can reach it. So, while it is absolutely the best mission for gathering studs, it also requires working through a sizable portion of the story missions.

The key here is to shoot every pipe you see. You want to destroy as much of the environment as possible. Also, the second the QTE starts, you are done earning studs. So, open up the menu and quit the mission. Don’t worry, you get all the studs you banked already.

The Rancor Method

Rancor Stud Collection

The basic strategy for the Rancor method is to switch to the Rancor character and trample Sky City. This method takes quite a few steps, but it is probably the single most lucrative method for earning studs in the game.

You will need to complete Episode 4 and Episode 5 as well as the A Plan To Save Han mission from Episode 6. You will then have to spend a whopping 500,000 studs on the Rancor. Once you have done all of that, go to Sky City and go on a rampage as this gigantic monstrosity. The studs will just start piling up.

AT-ST Stud Collection

Now, there is a way to do the Rancor method without the Rancor. You can hop into one of the vehicles parked right outside the landing pod in Sky City and go on a similar rampage. It is still a great way to earn studs. However, it can’t sprint like the Rancor can; neither can it jump.

Stud-Based Class Skills

Bounty Hunter Stud Collection (by way of murder)

The bounty hunter has a skill called Hidden Bounties that allows them to acquire more studs from every enemy they defeat. This is a skill that you should probably consider spending your Kyber Bricks on, as you will fight multiple waves of enemies throughout this game. The only downside is that you will rarely use a bounty hunter in story missions. Still, when you replay missions to complete challenges, or to gather Minikit pieces, this will make bounty hunter characters a valuable source of studs.

Another skill you will want to look at acquiring as quickly as possible is the Astromech Socket Expert for the astromech droid. You will be unlocking many terminals throughout your time with Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. Hundreds of them. So, it is extremely helpful to earn studs while you are doing so.

Astromech Stud Collection (by way of hacking)

The Hero Terminal Expert and Villain Terminal Expert will provide similar bonuses to the Astromech Socket Expert, and are worth pursuing if you have the available Kyber Bricks, but will ultimately be substantially less lucrative than their Astromech equivalent. Similarly, the Paid Translator skill is a decent way to earn studs using a protocol droid, but it isn't super high priority.

Even though you may want to save studs for datacards, it is worth investing in these skills (especially the Hidden Bounties and Astromech Socket Expert skills) as they will quickly pay for themselves.

Stud Comets

Shooting the stud comet for profit

So, these are in every space section you travel to after you take out the Kyber brick comets. The stud comets are worth 22,000 studs. This is a decent amount, and will obviously be even more impressive with a few datacard multipliers, but it is a lot of faffing about for 22,000. We recommend pursuing the stud comet if you are in a planet’s space region anyway, but farming them isn’t the most efficient way to get studs in this game.

Putting It All Together

A Skip And A Jump Stud Collection
  • Spend as few studs as humanly possible until you can acquire at least the first two stud boosting datacards.
  • You should probably start by working your way through the sequel trilogy. While rampaging through Sky City as the rancor is more profitable, it also has a very expensive barrier of entry. That is why unlocking the A Skip And A Jump mission first makes sense.
  • On your way to unlocking the A Skip And A Jump mission, make sure you are breaking everything you see. If you are in space, make sure to shoot down those stud comets. Also, work toward upgrading the bounty hunter and astromech droid stud improving skills.
  • Also, grab the relevant datacards along the way. The first one you pick up will likely be in Jakku. With the first datacard unlocked, you will be acquiring about 200,000 studs every two minutes by the time you acquire the A Skip And A Jump mission. You will very quickly have enough to unlock the second datacard. Once you do, you will be getting close to a million studs a run in A Skip And A Jump.
  • Now, you will be acquiring studs at a blinding rate. Work your way through the original trilogy. By the time you complete the A Plan To Save Han mission, you will have enough studs to buy the next data card (and you should have already picked up a few datacards from Tatooine)
  • From here, you can just keep alternating between rampaging in Cloud City and running the A Skip And A Jump mission. You will have all the datacards in no time. At which point studs will never be a problem for you ever again.
