When you think of Life is Strange, it's likely you don't think about the characters' fashion choices. Instead, you think of the deeply emotional storytelling, or the fantastic use of music. You think of its unique, golden aesthetic, its take on superpowers, and its down-to-earth characters, or its complete inability to produce even one bad entry.

It's a little silly to focus on the clothes of characters when there's so much more to appreciate about them. Still, a fun aspect of Life is Strange is its attention to detail, and that includes how characters dress. What someone chooses to wear can tell you a lot about them, after all. Regardless of what each outfit says story wise, we can't help but be a little envious of how well these characters pull these looks.

10 Victoria At The End Of The World

Life is Strange - Victoria Chase at the End of the World party

Victoria Chase is the stereotypical mean girl of Blackwell High. She's rich and snobby, with just enough talent to justify her enrollment, and most of your interactions with her are negative, to say the least. But, thankfully, we don't have to like her as a person to like her fashion choices.

Honestly, they're pretty good choices. Or, at least, she's definitely on top of 2013's fashion trends; you can't look at Victoria's blouse and not remember the soft palettes punctuated with dark lines of the early 2010s. The collared shirt, the muted and warm pinkish color of her cardigan, the necklace and the grey skirt completes Victoria's preppy and bossy vibe.

9 Max (In Rachel's Clothes)

Life is Strange - Max Caulfield in Chloe's room wearing Rachel's old clothes

Conveniently, Max fits into Rachel's old clothes. But it's lucky as hell that she happens to look great in them — if you can get over the slightly macabre vibe of wearing a missing girl's outfit. Still, Max really rocks this, well, grunge rock look. We're so used to seeing a more mousy, subdued version of Max who values comfort and favors softer, lighter colors, so even basic red patterned plaid looks loud on her.

Honestly, this style meshes with Max's artistic side better, or at least, it seems like the kind of thing we'd see creative-types wearing. Seeing our girl in distressed jeans, a graphic tank top, and ripped plaid just feels right, you know?

8 Weather-Prepared Ryan

Life is Strange: True Colors - Ryan Lucan chapter 1 near mine

It's not like this is an incredibly odd or out-there look for Ryan — the man lives and breathes plaid and flannel. There's just something about this particular ensemble that hits all the right notes. It's also the first outfit you see him in, so you get an immediate impression of the guy and his outdoorsy, warm vibe.

Many characters in Life is Strange wear flannel, but Ryan is the only one who seems like he actually needs it. It's the functional, practical choice, though he also wears rings and a choker to show he's not entirely boring. We have no doubt other characters could pull this outfit off, but Ryan might be the only one it actually suits.

7 Punk Rock Rachel

Life Is Strange: Before the Storm - Rachel Amber in the Old Mill talking to Chloe

Rachel Amber is a mysterious figure, a shadow looming over Arcadia Bay. You never meet Rachel as Max — everything you know is secondhand. That changes when you play as Chloe in Before the Storm, where you are fully embedded in her orbit.

She finds you in the old mill, where a punk band is playing an underground show. This is not her usual look — fingerless gloves complete with more than a few bracelets, more necklaces than you can probably count, a studded jacket with DIY button embellishment, and her trademark single blue earring. It leaves an impression on you as much as on Chloe.

6 Witchy Steph

Life is Strange" True Colors - Steph as magical shopkeeper, talking to Alex and Ethan

Steph is gifted in making even a goofy, oversized witch hat look incredible. While our rocker girl has never looked bad a single day of her life, we must commend her devotion to the aesthetic. Where did she get this witch costume? Does it matter? She is working it.

If not for the hat, you could almost imagine Steph just wearing this day-to-day. That's how natural she makes it look. We kinda wish we could grab a replica, if only so we could see if we could pull it off, too.

5 Thaynor AKA Ethan Lambert

Life is Strange: True Colors - Ethan as Thaynor during LARP

In the undisputed cutest section of probably any entry into the Life is Strange series, you're tasked with being Ethan's support during a town-wide LARP. So naturally, you and Ethan are decked out in appropriate fantasy garb — namely, some cool hats. But it's near the end of the LARP where Ethan's outfit shines.

Through your empathy powers, you see the world through Ethan's eyes — and his imagination has completely changed your world. Suddenly, you look like a proper bard, and Ethan — sorry, Thaynor — is fully decked out in shiny armor. He looks like an actual fantasy warrior, from the horned helmet to the one-shoulder pad. Sure, it might be imaginary, but it still counts.

4 Dressing Up Alex

Life is Strange: True Colors - Alex at Spring Festival with Steph and Ryan

Let's get this straight: every single one of Alex's outfits rocks. They complement her well, especially the oversized, baggy jean jacket full of cool buttons. But, we have a special place in our hearts for her "event" wear. It isn't even that complicated: just a graphic, off-shoulder t-shirt, and a form-fitting skirt, yet she makes it look like a million bucks.

Steph is right to shriek when she sees Alex in this number because she could probably launch a thousand ships. You can, of course, choose between slight variations of the outfit — leggings or no leggings, different color palettes — but regardless of what you choose, Alex will look amazing.

3 A Brighter Look For Sean

Life is Strange 2 - Sean and Daniel Diaz in winter clothes outside of their grandparents' house in episode 2

The winter chill is in the air, but thankfully, Sean is prepared for it. Midway through the second episode of Life is Strange 2, Sean and Daniel reunite with their maternal grandparents. With this comes warmth, stability, and new clothes.

We've been so used to seeing Sean in muted or dark colors that the sudden appearance of an almost neon-orange sweater is almost disorienting. But, somehow, he makes it work. Or maybe we're just happy to see him in something warm, clean and bright. The rips in his pants are fixed, and for a moment, you feel like everything might turn out okay.

2 Chloe Price, Full Stop

Chloe Price life is strange talking in diner

Chloe's outfit never changes, really. It's always a white tank top, black jacket, dark skinny jeans, black beanie, and bullet necklace to complete the look. That's fine, though, its unchanging nature only adds to her icon status. Not only does it compliment her personality, but it also makes us want to go out, dye our hair blue, and wear a beanie daily.

How can she make looking cool so effortless? What is it about the three-bullet necklace that ties this whole outfit together? We don't know. We just know that we wish we could pull this outfit off as well as Chloe can.

1 Alex's Trusty Jean Jacket

Alex Chen from Life Is Strange True Colors looking at something; she looks worried.

It is a truth universally acknowledged that everyone should have at least one jean jacket. If it's a little oversized, that's just a bonus. If you find a jean jacket you like, it is impossible to look bad. The best part about jean jackets is you can customize them to your heart's content with cool pins. They grow distressed with use, but never lose their original charm.

Alex gets that. The first outfit you meet her in is practically iconic. Well-worn and personally altered with patches and pins, you can tell that Alex loves that jacket. When you pair that with her headphones, rings and big, black boots, you've got yourself an entire killer combo.
