Hours after the announcement that Life is Strange Remastered Collection will be pushed back into 2022, the series has been hit with yet another delay. In a follow up tweet, the official Life is Strange Twitter account has announced that while Life is Strange: True Colors is on track for its Septemeber 10 launch, the Nintendo Switch version is "running a little late", and is set to release later this year.

Life is Strange: True Colors is also coming to PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Right now, these releases are still on track for September 10.

The delay is again tied to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, which has inpacted the development of countless games. When announcing the first delay, the statement read that the team would need more time between these two releases. Given the unique hardware of the Switch, it is likely that the same logic applies, and the developers need more breathing room to ensure the port is up to standards.

No specific release date is given for the Switch release, just that the team "still plan to release this year". According to the statement, a confirmation for the new dates will be with us "over the coming weeks".

The tweet also clarifies that purhcasing the Life is Strange: True Colors Ultimate Edition will still grant players access to both True Colors and the Remastered Collection (containing the first Life is Strange, and Before the Storm). Players will just have to wait until 2022 to gain access to their copies.

Life is Strange: True Colors is the third main installment in the series, and follows new character, Alex Chen. Alex has the power of empathy, and the story will follow her investigation into the death of her brother. True Colors will be the first to not release in an episodic format, departing from the struture of the other entries.
