Life is Strange: True Colors is coming to Switch in "early December", Square Enix has just announced. It was initially set to launch alongside other platforms - PC, PlayStation and Xbox - but was pushed back due to complications caused by the pandemic.

Publisher Square Enix announced the news in a tweet, shedding a bit more light on when Switch players can get their hands on the game. There is still no specific release date, only that it will be here in time for Christmas.

However, it's important to note that the tweet only mentions digital versions of the game. Retailers such as Amazon do list a boxed version for Switch, but have the release date set as December 31 (possibly a placeholder). Given the specific language in the tweet, it is likely that those who pre-ordered the physical version will have to wait out a little longer. This isn't out of the ordinary right now, with Sonic Colors: Ultimate recently delaying its physical release in several regions.

True Colors launched across other platforms September 10, and seemed none the worse for wear considering its pandemic-era development. The only glaring problem was performance issues on PS4 and Xbox One, which struggled with rendering light correctly on some surfaces, and even had a pretty hilarious glitch where Alex would T pose right in the middle of an emotional scene. Fortunately, this was eventually patched out.

In our review, Jade King gave Life is Strange: True Colors 5/5, praising its exploration of grief, while also allowing for moments of joy in a way that doesn't feel jarring. Check out the full review here.

Life is Strange: True Colors was developed by Deck Nine - the same team behind the prequel, Before the Storm. It is currently available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S, having launched back in September.
