The ninth chapter of Like A Dragon: Ishin is more story-centric than the last. However, that doesn't mean Ryoma won't still get into trouble. We'll take you through this chapter, and help you see Ryoma through as he engages in some reckless behavior out on the town.

Most notably, we will help you beat not one, but two, familiar bosses. The catch is, you will be fighting them both at the same time. So, get ready to drink, get ready to brawl, and get ready to watch some cutscenes.

Ryoma's Bender

Like A Dragon Ishin, Ryoma's drinking is disturbed by a mysterious woman

You will start in the Teradaya, drinking away your pain. Move to the Fukufuku Pub in the Fushimi. A mysterious woman will tell you to meet her in Kuramachi, which is just a little west of the Shinto Shrine in Fushimi. Once you arrive at this location, you will see that it is a bar. You will then be joined by Katsura.

After a cutscene, you will witness some jerks throwing rocks at a dog. Thankfully, Saigo will take out the trash. This will lead to a cinematic that will inevitably see Ryoma take on both Katsura and Saigo in a fistfight.

Boss Battle: Saigo And Katsura

Like A Dragon Ishin, Saigo and Katsura

This battle isn't too tough. While both Saigo and Katsura come packing some reasonably strong moves, both seem to have a pretty small amount of health. Katsura has a lot of fast-hitting attacks, and he has long combo strings. Saigo, on the other hand, tends to like to hit with giant, powerful, individual attacks. One of the more effective ways they will work together is Katsura will lock you down with a combo, while Saigo will charge up a giant charge attack from a distance.

Like A Dragon Ishin, Saigo breaking Ryoma's guard

During the first phase, you can block all of their attacks. Saigo will be able to break your guard with his charged attacks, but not penetrate it. However, that does mean that, in the worst-case scenario, Saigo can break your guard, and Katsura can land a free combo attack on you. To make sure this doesn't happen, when you see Saigo charging up, prepare to dash out of the way. Whatever you do, though, don't let him land that attack. If he hits with it, you will lose about a quarter of your health. So, break off combos if you see him charging this attack up.

If you are feeling pressured, reset the positioning with a Heat Action. A great way to do this is with your grab. Just hammer the Heat Action button when you go for it. Even if they break your grab, you should have a heat action that will catch them.

Like A Dragon Ishin, Parrying Katsura

While this duo does synergize quite well, they definitely have weaknesses that you can exploit. Katsura is easy to parry, so make good use of that. Saigo, on the other hand, has a number of moves that will blow right through your parry, but they tend to be single hitting, so he is fairly easy to dodge. This is especially true of Saigo's electrified attacks. If you see him sparking with energy, get some distance. Do not try to parry it!

Like A Dragon Ishin, Ryoma gets electrified by Saigo

Speaking of Saigo's electrified attacks, he gets these in his second phase. Katsura, on the other hand, seems to get a speed boost, and his combos get longer and more ornate. However, by the time they have entered into the second phase, they will have taken quite a bit of damage. We finished Katsura off with a few hits and a Heat Action. Once Saigo is on his own, his slow speed makes him pretty easy to pick apart. You should finish this fight soon after.

From there, you are going out drinking with the boys. The boys being sworn enemies Saigo and Katsura (and the dog Saigo rescued), of course. During this time, you will be assisted by both Saigo and Katsura during combat. Throughout this section of the chapter, most of the map is still open to you, but you won't be able to go back to your farm or participate in minigames.

The first bar you are going to hit is Watami in Rakunai, then from there, head straight to Gion; your next destination is The Ryotei Kasuga. After a little more reckless alcohol consumption, you will wake up at the Teradaya. Just watch the remaining cutscenes, and you will conclude this chapter.
