Limited edition consoles can be a valuable find for dedicated gamers who are willing to spend a chunk of money. Or, in some cases, all it takes to snag one of those rare babies is being in the right place at the right time. The good news is that if you happen to get your hands on any collector's item consoles, they may someday double in their worth, so it's best to hold on to them.

However, the waiting game can also be a bit of a gamble. Some rare consoles aren't worth that much, but keep researching and you may end up a few hundred dollars richer. Here are 10 rare, limited edition game consoles, ranked by how much they're worth today.

10 Cuphead Xbox One S (>$200)

The Cuphead Xbox One S may not have the highest value, but it's worth noting simply due to its rarity. Only four of these consoles were custom-painted and given away at a release party in Los Angeles in September 2017. This bright yellow Xbox featured official Cuphead art on the base of the device and the controller, as well as the phrase "Don't Deal With The Devil."

Since there are only four in the world right now, there are none listed for sale at the moment. However, given that an original Xbox One S is $200, the custom Cuphead edition would likely cost a few hundred more.

9 Nintendo 64 Pikachu Version Orange ($400)

This Nintendo 64 is perfect for the Pokemon-lover. The Japanese version was released in a vibrant orange, while in North America it was developed in a dark blue. However, both consoles featured a giant, 3D Pikachu with his signature smile on the side, as well as a smaller Pokeball. It came with one matching controller with "Pikachu" written on the front. The front of the Nintendo 64 also featured a bright yellow "Pikachu" label.

The orange version is a little harder to come by nowadays than the blue version, which sets its value at $400.

8 Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater 3D Premium Package 3DS ($600)

This console is one that would be worth buying simply because it looks really cool. The Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater 3DS Premium Package came with an all-black, snakeskin-patterned 3DS and the Metal Gear Solid 3D Snake Eater game. The snakeskin pattern may have been simple, but it looked incredibly realistic and left fans in awe.

Konami previously collaborated with Nintendo to create a silver GameCube bundled with Metal Gear Solid: Twins Snakes, per GamesRadar, but the 3DS was definitely more popular. If you can shell out $600, this rare collector's item is worth trying out.

7 Nintendo Wii U The Legend Of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD Deluxe Set ($675)

The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker was arguably one of the most popular Zelda games when it was released for the GameCube in 2003. Lucky enough for nostalgic fans, Nintendo re-released the game in 2013 for the Wii U.

To celebrate the launch, Nintendo released a decked-out black Wii U in a Legend of Zelda-themed design, which came with a digital download for the remastered version of Wind Waker. Although the Wii U wasn't Nintendo's best console, fans loved the theme and made this console a rare collectible. It's now selling on eBay for $500 or more.

6 Ceramic White PS2 ($700)

In a similar celebratory fashion, Sony released the Ceramic White PlayStation 2 to celebrate the sale of the 20 millionth PlayStation 2. Its all-white design completely contrasted the original PlayStation 2's all-black color, which is likely why this rare find caught the eyes of thousands of fans. The console came complete with an all-white controller.

Only 2,000 of these consoles were given away in the early 2000s, so they're worth a pretty penny today. Right now, the white PS2 is selling for $700, according to ScreenRant.

5 500 Million Celebration 2TB PS4 Pro ($915)

Sony released a limited edition, shiny dark blue PlayStation 4 earlier this year to celebrate all PS4 consoles collectively reaching 500 million sales worldwide. The console, which came with a sleek, blue controller and a matching camera, was available for pre-order via a lottery, and then sold out all 50,000 units within minutes during the general sale.

The most interesting part of this rare console's design is its translucent finish, which allows people to see the inner workings of the device. No other PlayStation has been designed this way, which is why the 500 Million console is now worth $915.

4 Donkey Kong GameBoy Advance (>$1,000)

This Donkey Kong-inspired, bright yellow handheld gaming console was the perfect way to honor Nintendo's favorite monkey. It came complete with brown buttons and "DK" printed on the front.

Only 1,000 of these consoles were developed in the early 2000s, and they're a rare find. On eBay right now, this eye-catching GameBoy Advance is selling for over $1,000, but it is undoubtedly the perfect way to play as the lovable, barrel crushing, banana peeing, ladder climbing Donkey Kong. Get your hands on one of these consoles while you can, and they'll likely be worth even more one day.

3 Toys 'R' Us Gold Nintendo 64 (>$1,000)

This rare, golden find was developed by Toys 'R' Us for North American stores in the '90s. A similar gold Nintendo 64 was released in Japan, but that version only included one controller, while the North American version came with two controllers, the console, connectors, and games, all in a vibrant gold color.

The Toys 'R' Us exclusive Gold Nintendo 64 became more valuable when Toys 'R' Us closed last year. On eBay, this limited edition console is being sold for over $1,000 in good condition.

2 20th Anniversary Special Edition PS4 ($1,699)

The 20th Anniversary edition of the PlayStation 4 is the perfect blend of nostalgia and modernism. The PS4's sleek design and accessories combined with the original console's gray finish and classic, colorful PlayStation logo made for a must-have set.

It certainly was in high demand, as all 12,300 sets sold out quickly online in 201, despite not even being officially available to the public. The PS4 camera and controller were later sold separately, as well. Some collectors may be hesitant to let this rare console go, which is why it's worth over $1,500 today, according to GamesRadar.

1 Shadow Of The Tomb Raider Xbox One X ($8,300)

This is one of the rarest Xbox models ever made. There is only one Shadow of the Tomb Raider-inspired console out there, and just a few months ago, there was only one way to get it. Square Enix auctioned the console off for charity in September, where it sold for $8,300, according to Forbes.

The console was decked out in vines and a mysterious-looking moon-shaped relic on the front, and it came with a brown, vine-covered controller. The Shadow of the Tomb Raider Xbox One X is just too beautiful to ever use.
