Cooking isn’t just about buffs in Lost Ark. Alongside the usual crafting elements, there are also cooking ingredients you need for each continent’s Adventurer’s Tome. These are recipes you need to acquire and complete, either by finding hidden locations on the map or by purchasing them from various vendors.
Anikka has some tricky ingredients to collect. You’ll need to find hidden locations in two of its dungeons, while another two need you to get lucky when processing ingredients you need to buy from stores – which can result in you spending tens of thousands of silver coins. But if you’ve got the cash, we’ve got all the locations below.
Deer Hind Hooves Stew
Enter Rattan Hill via the Port City Changhun portal and head north into Wolf Valley. When you get to a junction with a left-hand dead-end, you’ll find mini-boss Yorang. This large wolf has 28,000 health and brings some friends to the party, so be on your guard.
Just to the right of the path where you find him, opposite the path heading west, there are some markings on the ground. Investigate them to gather a Deer Hind Hoof. Take the hoof to Cook Sobin in the Changhun Inn, in the western part of Port City Changhun. He’ll turn it into Deer Hind Hooves Stew for 1,400 silver coins.
Jeok Clan Miracle Drug
Go northeast from the Ascetic Temple Triport and down the vines. Go north through Bamboo Forest and take the second turning west towards the Jeok Clan Training Grounds. Stick to the north of the path and head right into the north corner of the area, above the most northerly building. There’s a cart next to it – and behind it, you’ll find the ‘Secret Pill of Jeok Family’. Simply right-click this is your inventory to complete the Jeok Clan Miracle Drug cooking requirement.
Lucky Fortune Cookie
Are you feeling lucky? If so, head over to Food Merchant Chunling who is on the west-side of Port City Changhun. You’ll find her standing outside the Clinic, on the way towards the Rattan Hill portal. Talk to her, and she’ll sell you Fortune Cookie Chests at 60 silver coins each (you’ll need to click the ‘Ingredients’ tab).
How many will you need to buy? Well, it’s totally random. But you can ‘use’ 30 at a time, so buying in that ratio is advisable. Mostly you’ll get an 'Unlucky Fortune Cookie’, which is worthless. You may literally need to buy hundreds to get the Lucky Fortune Cookie you need. But once you have it, you just need to right-click to add it to your tome.
Manpo's Mystery Meat Dumpling
You’ll need to head to Cooking Ingredient Merchant Kongbo to find the secret ingredient required for this dumpling. His store is just north of the Fishing Spot in the southwest of Port City Changhun. And the ingredients you need to buy from him are the 100-year-old Centipede, which will cost you 6,000 silver coins – plus an Old Dumpling, which costs another 3,000.
You need to take these to Cook Sobin, who is also in the city. Just head up to the kitchen at the back of the Changhun Inn in the northwest of the area. He’ll make you a Manpo’s Mystery Meat Dumpling for 1,400 silver coins.
Perfect Sugar Sculpture
From the Tournament Arena’s centre, leave by the southwest path and go to the shop of Cooking Ingredient Merchant Kongbo. It’s just northwest of the Fishing Spot. Inside you’ll find you can buy a ‘Sugar Lump’ for 30 silver coins. But at this low price, you may as well buy 30 at a time, as you’re relying on luck to make your sculpture.
Once you’ve bought some, alt-right-click them in your inventory (you can do 30 at a time) to get one of three results – a Questionable, Broken, or Perfect Sugar Sculpture. When you manage to get a ‘Perfect’ one, right-click it to add it to your Adventurer’s Tome.
Secret Yeon-Style Marinated Special
Portal to the Around Yeon’s Barrier Triport in Rattan Hill and enter the dungeon to the east. Once inside, head north and then across the rooves to the Lotus Pavilion. Just south of here, you’ll come to an ornate circular stone floor with a golden pattern just before crossing a small bridge.
To the left of the bridge, on the rocks by the waterfall, is a large pot. Inside you’ll find the Sealed Special Sauce you need. Take it to Cook Sobin in Port City Changhun, along with 900 silver coins, to receive your Secret Yeon-Style Marinated Special.
Soup Of Transcendence
Travel to the Bleak Edge dungeon in Twilight Mists. Once inside, work your way north and then west until the quest text changes to, ‘Eliminate the group of Corpse Soldiers’. Instead of heading west, go east along the thin path as far as you can go. At the end, you’ll see some papers on the floor. Investigate them to discover the Legendary Secret Recipe.
Take this recipe to Cook Sobin, who you can find at the back of the Changhun Inn on the north-west side of Port City Changhun. He will use it to create the Soup of Transcendence you need for 1,400 silver coins.
