Learn how to unlock Guardian Raids and defeat Lost Ark's first Guardian, Ur'nil.

Shadespire is the first Tower you'll unlock in Lost Ark and arguably the most important of the two available at NA launch. This is one of the best sources of Engraving recipes in Lost Ark, and it also grants some rare collectibles and stat-boosting potions you'll need to progress your character. And if you decide to clear this on an alt, you'll obtain a large sum of upgrade materials. Let's delve into the rewards for this activity and how to clear all 50 floors of Lost Ark's Shadespire.

This article is nearly 6,000 words and covers all 50 floors. We highly recommend you use the table of contents above to find the section that interests you. We also are going to assume you understand the basics of Tower. If not, check out our Tower guide.

Shadespire Rewards

Before we break down this Tower's rewards, we need to mention that the rewards you'll receive will depend on how many times you've cleared Shadespire. On your first clear, you'll get tons of Engraving recipe books, stat-boosting potions, and a few collectibles. However, if you're clearing this on an alternate character, you'll receive upgrade materials instead.

If you want to progress through the endgame faster, we recommend that your first Shadespire clear be on an alternate character. This will cause Shadespire to give upgrade materials on your main, giving you more opportunities to upgrade your items.

A portal will spawn at the center of this floor, spawning various demonic enemies. A small assortment of fodder minions will spawn first, one of which is holding a spear and shield. Defeating those minions will spawn the Prodigal Stoker boss, a fire giant with much more deadly attacks.

The Prodigal Stoker has the following attacks:

  • Melee Slash: Stand directly in front of the boss, and it'll make a short swipe at you.
  • Three-HIt Combo: The Prodigal Stoker will extend its left arm before swinging three times forward.
  • FIreball: Should you distance yourself from the boss, it'll release a massive fireball that tracks. Try your best to avoid it.
  • Meteor Swarm: The Prodigal Stoker will kneel before releasing a short series of fireballs across the arenas, covering a small area.
  • Fireblast: The boss will release a fire AoE around himself after a short windup. It's slow enough to where you can walk out of it without much issue.

Most of the Prodigal Stoker's attacks inflict a burn debuff on your character, dealing small damage over time. Try your best to avoid the boss' attacks.

Besides the boss, you'll also be facing a constant stream of demonic minions throughout this fight. You only need to kill the boss to complete this floor, so focus on the boss above all else. Your safest moment to strike is during its three-hit combo. Get behind the boss when it starts the attack, land a few hits, and retreat. Repeat as needed. Should the minions give you trouble, deploy a scarecrow before starting the encounter.

A Seal Stone can be found at the center of this floor. Destroy it to spawn Sword of Purification, Lir. Lir is a massive NPC that will assist you with this floor. The goal of this floor is simple: defeat all of the enemies and bosses that spawn.

Demonic enemies from previous floors will flood the arena at first, but nothing that should pose a threat. Four Perfect Infected bosses will spawn shortly afterward, the same boss you fought on Floor 10. They can't do much if you stay at range or attack from behind, so let Lir draw their attention.

Two Prodigal Stokers will spawn once the Perfect Infected bosses are slain. Once again, you fought this enemy already on Floor 20. Let Lir dive into the Prodigals to get their attention, giving you a moment to deal some damage. If you're a melee class, position yourself toward the back of either boss to deal bonus damage while remaining safe. Once both Prodigal Stokers are dead, the objective will be complete.

Beyond that, Joe also has two doppelgangers at the edges of the arena that'll occasionally throw a sword at you. So long as you pay attention to the doppelgangers, the swords are fairly easy to dodge. Focus on killing Joe to finish the fight. • Charge: After a short animation, the Essence of Avarice will charge forward, knocking your character prone if it hits.
  • Bile: The Essence of Avarice will vomit in a wide cone, stunning you for two seconds if it lands.
  • Vile Meteors: Multiple projectiles will land around the arena, dealing moderate damage over a small area.

Both bosses will attempt to chain stun you with their charge and bile abilities. It's best to use a movement skill or dash to avoid either attack whenever possible. If one of the bosses gets a stun off, you can easily get chain stunned. Wait for a boss to charge or use its conal attack, then damage the boss from behind. Repeat until both are dead.

  • Charge: The Elemental Knight will dash forward or launch a sword slash in a rectangular area. Getting hit by this attack will launch you in the air.
  • Tornados: Four tornados will spawn and continuously track your character. Should they make contact, you'll be knocked prone. The tornados will despawn after a few seconds.

Ranged characters shouldn't have much of an issue with this fight. Avoid using abilities that anchor your character until the Elemental Knight uses its charge attack. Sword of Purification, Lir, is coming back to assist you in this encounter. The objective of Floor 39 is to defeat a boss named Leshar's Follower, Witch Neiha. Unfortunately, this boss is nigh-invulnerable to all of your hits, so you'll need to rely on Lir's attacks to kill the boss.

Your goal is to kill all the fodder enemies while Lir dances with the boss. It takes about three to five minutes for Lir to kill the boss, so be mindful of your time.

When you've destroyed every minion in the arena, the only thing you can do is break Witch Neiha's poise by repeatedly damaging her. This will cause the boss to stop moving for a few seconds, giving Lir a perfect opportunity to damage her. Don't even bother damaging the boss on this floor; only Awakening skills deal any noticeable damage against this boss.

As for Witch Neiha's attacks, she only has four worth mentioning:

  • Charge: The boss will slither forward after a short windup, knocking your character prone if it gets hit.
  • Cone Attack: Neiha will damage and stun anyone that's directly in front of her.
  • Sludge: The boss will cover the ground in a toxic sludge, dealing damage over time.

  • Spin Attack: After a short windup, Doujebe will swing its scythe around his body twice.
  • Scythe Throw: Doujebe will throw its scythe at you, should you get too far. If it hits, you'll be temporarily stunned.
  • Poison Pools: Throughout the fight, the boss will summon pools of poison that deal massive damage if you stand in them. They despawn after a short duration.

You also have a 10% attack speed penalty throughout this entire fight, although it's small enough to hardly have an impact. You only get five minutes to damage this boss, so make it count. Let Lir draw Doujebe's attention while you attack the boss from behind.

Once it becomes engaged, Pokan will hit harder and begin to use its charge attack more often. Speaking of attacks, here's what Pokan is capable of:

  • Melee Default Attack: Pokan punches you a few times for low damage.
  • Charge: Pokan will give a short telegraph before dashing across the arena.
  • Leap Slam: Pokan will leap to your location three times, each time dealing damage over a moderate area.

This encounter is all about managing your distance. Wait for the boss to charge, get behind it, land a few hits, then retreat. • Frenzy: Riku will rapidly swipe his claws in a wide cone, dealing heavy damage while inflicting bleed.

  • Energy Beam: The Tortured Heathen will fire an energy beam in a straight path, dealing heavy damage. This attack has a short telegraph.
  • AoE Slam: Should you get too close, the boss will use a slam attack to push targets away from him.
  • Clones: The Tortured Heathen will create multiple copies of himself that will mimic his attacks.
  • Toxic Sludge (Worms): The worms in the arena will fire toxic projectiles that will blind your character for a long duration.

This fight is incredibly hectic, arguably the most chaotic fight in the entire Tower. To defeat this boss, you're going to want a scarecrow and Luretta's Horn to divert the attention of the boss and his worm minions. You'll also want a Panacea potion to purge the darkness debuff that blinds you.

As for the boss, it typically teleports to the corners of the arena. It's best to bait out an energy beam attack, then use that moment to dish out some damage. Melee characters will have a hard time here, so be sure to bring some movement skills to avoid any sudden AoE telegraphs.

Defeat monsters

Recommended Items

Greandes, Stealth Robe, Scarecrow

This encounter is unbeatable unless you have a battle item that can damage enemies. Grenades are mandatory.

Floor 48 is merely a gear check. You'll be silenced upon entering this arena and be unable to attack in any capacity. To beat this encounter, you must defeat the assassin miniboss that spawns in the center of the arena.

You can only use grenades to finish this encounter—Loretta's Horn does not work. Bring two grenade types that damage enemies to get this done quickly. The longer you take, the more enemies will spawn. Minibosses will spawn if you take too long, so be swift. You might also want to use a scarecrow and stealth robe to stay alive while you wait for your grenade cooldowns to end.

Defeat the boss

Recommended Items

Scarecrow, Stealth Robe, Luterra's Horn

The Giant Stone Spider and Entangled Soul Cluster minibosses are back. These enemies shouldn't prove much of an issue at this stage. Group them up and use AoE attacks to kill them.

Once both of those minibosses are dead, the actual boss will spawn. Leshar's Minion "Organ Extractor" is the same boss you fought on Floor 40. Use the same tactics as before to take this boss out, attacking from behind and maintaining a good distance. Should this boss fight take too long, Perfect Infected minibosses will start to spawn to give you even more trouble. You only need to kill the Organ Extractor to finish this floor.

If you're struggling to juggle all the enemies in this encounter, bring a scarecrow or Luterra's Horn.

Panacea, Swiftness Robe

Your final task to finish Shadepire is to slay Corrupting Light Lezerd, a boss that has a wide range of AoE attacks.

  • Energy Blasts: Lezerd will project three conal AoE attacks from his body. The direction of the AoEs depend on where you are. If you're on his sides, he releases two AoEs instead of just one.
  • Energy Beam: After a short windup, Lezerd fires a beam of energy that deal massive damage.
  • Area Blast: Lezerd releases waves of energy from his body. If you're standing near him, the AoE will cover the floor near the boss. If you're away from the boss, the AoE will cover everywhere except his body.
  • Darkness: Partway through the fight, Lezerd will shroud the floor in darkness to conceal his AoE attack indicators.
  • Blind: During the second phase, Lezerd can blind your character for a few seconds.

This boss can enrage himself during the second half of the fight, giving himself increased attack power and allowing him to use his energy beam attack more often.

In essence, this fight is all about managing your positioning and reading telegraphs. You can manipulate which AoE attacks the boss will use based on where you stand. Standing in front of the boss will cause him to use a frontal cone AoE attack, for example, allowing you to avoid it solely from muscle memory.

For the area blast attacks, you'll want to alternate your space from the boss. If you're close, get far from him. If you're at range, get close. Even when the floor becomes covered in darkness during the second phase, you'll need to be deliberate with your positioning to predict the boss' attacks and successfully avoid them.

You want to alternate the position of your character with each attack to stay safe, weaving in attacks whenever possible. Ranged characters want to stay closer to the boss than normal, and melee characters always want a movement skill ready in case they make a mistake. To counter the blind effect in the second phase, use the Panacea potion.
