Geralt of Rivia will be making a comeback, looking better than ever with the current-gen upgrade for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. The upgrade will be getting a visual and performance overhaul, as well as a bunch of new features and quality of life updates. However, this isn't the first time Geralt will be stepping out in a while. The White Wolf recently took a trip to Arkesia as part of a collaboration with the MMO, Lost Ark.

Last week, Korean players got to experience the crossover. However, the delay between the Korean and Western versions of Lost Ark has reduced, meaning players in the west will get to experience it in January.

"While we know players are still experiencing the many changes found in the November “Feast With Friends” Update, we wanted to announce that adventurers in the Western version of Lost Ark will be able to experience the unique collaboration in January, 2023," said an update on the Lost Ark website.

"A beautiful island’s festivities have been interrupted by a mystifying vortex," it continued. "Uncovering the mysteries will lead to encounters with iconic characters from The Witcher on an all-new island and in new event quests! New Witcher themed cosmetics will be available in the store, and new character customization scars, Cards, Stronghold structures, Emojis (and more) await adventurers who participate in the event."

As for Geralt's own adventures, The Witcher 3 will be getting the free current-gen upgrade on December 14. Among the new features that will be coming to the game are a photo mode, a quick-Sign mode that will remove the radial menu, a Jaskier skin as well as a special quest based on the Netflix TV show; and most importantly, a fast-travel point at Crow's Perch, so you don't have to take a hike everytime you want to see the Bloody Baron.

Unfortunately, the upgrade will also be introducing the universally-hated wrinkly Nilfaardian armour from the TV show. The show changed the armour in the second season, but for some reason, CD Projekt Red has deemed it worthy enough to have a place in the next-gen upgrade.
