Last week it was rumored that Lost Judgment could be getting a demo according to a file found in the Japanese PSN database. It turns out that the leak was genuine and Lost Judgment's demo is actually out now, albeit only in Japan. Thankfully, there are ways to get around this.

PlayStation fans with a fondness for titles and demos exclusive in Japan will be aware that all one needs to do to get access to the Japanese PSN Store is to create a Japanese account on your system. Be aware that the process to create the account is tricky as everything is in Japanese, but there are plenty of guides out there to follow if you need them.

Once you've got your Japanese PSN account, all you need to do is navigate to the Lost Judgement demo and download it. The trial is pretty hefty in size - coming in at just under 15GB - so take that into consideration. The trial also contains English subtitles, so you'll need to switch to those if you want to understand what's going on in the demo.

However, this is all for the people who are itching to play Lost Judgment as soon as possible. Neither Sega nor Ryu Ga Gotoku Studios have announced that a demo will be available in the West, but a demo appearing in Japan could mean one is scheduled to release closer to launch for other countries.

In related news, a whole bunch of Lost Judgment DLC has been announced ahead of the game's release later this month. One piece of DLC is a story expansion called "The Kaito Files" which will let players take on the role of Yagami's beloved sidekick and best friend Kaito. The expansion doesn't yet have a release date but is expected to launch at some point in Spring 2022.

As for the main game, Lost Judgement releases later this month on September 24 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X. Those holding out for a PC port may be out of luck as there are ongoing disagreements with publisher Sega and Johnny & Associates, the talent agency of Yagami actor Takuya Kimura.
