Lost Judgment only makes it to number four in the UK boxed chart thanks to a Nintendo Switch resurgence spearheaded by the console's price cut.

Deathloop storming its way to number one in the UK boxed chart felt like the start of a merry-go-round in terms of a different new release debuting at number one with each passing week. That streak has been broken before it could even begin as three different Switch games, all of which have been on the market for more than a year, sold better than Lost Judgment.

The Sega sequel had to settle for fourth place in its opening week, one spot higher than last week's bestseller Deathloop. As for the top three, as touched upon above, it was Nintendo 1-2-3. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, a game that launched in 2017, is back at number one. Minecraft on Switch took second place, with Animal Crossing: New Horizons rounding out the top three.

While Switch games, including the three mentioned above, often dominate the top ten, the console and its titles were given a sales boost earlier this month. The Switch received its first-ever permanent price cut in the UK and Europe, hence the sales of its games all seeing an uplift over the course of the past few weeks.

You might be a little confused at the lack of Kena: Bridge of Spirits not only from the top ten but the entire top 40. Don't panic, the PlayStation exclusive didn't have a disastrous launch. It is currently only available digitally and the chart in question only takes physical sales into account. Kena will likely break the top ten when it is eventually released as a physical game later this year.

As for this week's number one, that spot has almost definitely been claimed before the week is even over. Before the game that will easily claim it has even launched, in fact. FIFA 22 comes to all major platforms this Friday and barring some sort of disaster, it will be declared the best-selling boxed game about a week from now. The week after that will be a more competitive one as Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl, Super Monkey Ball, Far Cry 6, and Metroid Dread all launch during the same seven-day period.
