Ludwig believes that more streamers will jump from Twitch to YouTube following some recent issues with the streaming service.
Several big streamers have been making the leap from Twitch to YouTube in the past month, including TimTheTatman, as well as others who are simply expressing wanting to quit Twitch altogether. This is in response to Twitch ignoring some big issues like hate raids on marginalised content creators, gambling streams, and previous problems like the hot-tub meta.
Now, one of Twitch's top streamers has stated that he believes that even more streamers will leave the service for YouTube. Ludwig Ahgren, who was at one point the top-subscribed streamer on Twitch, discussed the subject on the most recent episode of his podcast, The Yard. Around about an hour into the podcast, Ludwig starts to discuss the possibility of Twitch streamers leaving the service for YouTube.
Ludwig said, "He [Dr Lupo] just signed with YouTube exclusively, which, I will say, there’s going to be a bunch more people soon. I can’t leak. I do have some secret info that I can’t reveal too much. But I think a lot of streamers are going to leave Twitch for YouTube. But yeah, I think a bunch of people are leaving mainly because there are zero good contracts coming from Twitch’s end."
Although he clearly knows of a few people that are going to be moving from Twitch to YouTube, Ludwig wouldn't leak any information on the identity of who might be moving platforms. The main reason seems to be that Twitch isn't offering any big exclusivity contracts, whilst YouTube seemingly is, having brought TimTheTatman and Dr Disrespect over to the service.
That isn't the only reason though, as Twitch has had some pretty big issues lately, with things like hate raids, gambling streams, and strange new meta's impacting the reputation of the platform. Things have been so bad that many streamers teamed up with one another to take a day off Twitch, which actually made it lose one million viewers in one day.
