Video game developer Movie Games Lunarium and publisher Movie Games S.A. recently posted a new Lust from Beyond gameplay video full of more NSFW horror-erotica scenes and imagery, but that also revealed the game’s February 11, 2021 release date. The Worldwide Date Reveal Trailer can be found on the publisher’s YouTube channel and on the game’s Steam page.

As TheGamer has previously reported, Lust from Beyond is “a first-person horror-erotica game inspired by H.P. Lovecraft, Zdzisław Beksiński and H.R. Giger”. Lust’s original release date had previously been announced for September 24 of this year, but there seemed to be some friction with Steam that postponed the release date, hence the new reveal trailer. Here’s hoping the new release date sticks.

Lust from Beyond is marked as an ‘Adults Only’ game, with good reason. The devs describe the game as containing “sex and nudity, extreme and sexual violence and it's not suitable for viewers under 18.” In case that wasn’t obvious from the multiple videos on the Movie Games Lunarium YouTube channel. If you’re familiar with Madmind Studio’s Agony and upcoming Succubus games, you’ll notice some strong similarities between them and Lust from Beyond. And with this game’s list of horror influencers (Lovecraft, Beksiński, and Giger), Lust from Beyond seems to be going for the full monty with all the erotica and horror content it can hold.

Aside from the psychological and occult horror sights and sounds, Lust from Beyond does seem to have a solid story at its core. You roleplay as antiquarian Victor Holloway, who is described as a being “tormented by visions of a sinister land full of lechery and pain.” Holloway joins the Cult of Ecstasy in order to find answers to his dilemma, and instead gets “lost in its blasphemous and sexual customs.” The cultists discover Holloway’s visions may be the keys to opening the gates to “Lusst'ghaa - the Land of Ecstasy beyond the borders of our reality.” Holloway’s mission then becomes a race for survival as he’s faced with puzzles and otherworldly creatures while attempting to escape from the cult’s Victorian mansion.

There is a Lust from Beyond demo on Steam that’s free to download and play, if you want to really check into what the game is about. You’ll also find there two free-to-play stand-alone expansions: Lust from Beyond: Prologue, and Lust from Beyond: Scarlet. Both seem to be introductions into the Lust from Beyond universe, and worth playing to help decide if you want to buy the full game when it releases. Until then, "Yv'h lauv'abrarc! Yv'h Lusst'ghaa!"
