Madden NFL 20 recently released and players across the globe are already trying to build the best Ultimate Team they can put together. The game mode is easily the game's most influential and profitable and it's no surprise that the developers provide numerous ways to acquire your favorite players via in-game currency, challenge rewards, or randomly in packs you can buy with real or in-game currency. Whether you're new to the mode or a veteran player there are plenty of tips and tricks for building a better Ultimate team. Let's look at 10 tips for building a better Ultimate Team in Madden NFL 20.

10 Know Your Play Style

Before you begin to build the NFL team of your dreams it's best to come to an understanding with yourself. You should figure out if you don't already know, what type of play-style you enjoy most on both offense and defense. Understanding this will help you in targeting the specific types of players who will be most effective in your style of play. This doesn't only include the specific type of offense or defense you're running, but the type of player at a specified position. Know yourself and you'll know your team.

9 Uniform Refresh

This may sound silly and might not make sense to some people, but the idea of 'look good, feel good, feel good, play good' is an idea that's been around for a while. If you are playing Ultimate Team and it's starting to become tedious or boring you'd be amazed how much a jersey swap will do for your interest levels. Often staring at the same combination of colors can drive you mad, so if this starts to happen go into the lineup screen and find a new set of uniforms to give you a refreshing second wind.

8 Pick Needs

Though this is at the beginning of the list, this may be the hardest thing for people to do. When you're presented with a new pack that lets you select a player from several options you should also go with need over want. This is a hard thing to do when you have a shiny new receiver or quarterback staring you in the face. By picking the player you need you won't only make your overall team better, but it will help make the guys who are already on your team a lot better in the long run.

7 Build Chemistry

Chemistry is a tool in Ultimate Team that looks cumbersome and difficult at first glance but is pretty easy to get familiar with. Giving your players specific chemistry will often cost very few training points, and the bonuses you receive from have your starters all share the same chemistry is worth it. The best part about getting higher overall players is that they'll often have the ability to have multiple chemistry types which will give your team more versatility and allow you to have multiple roster lineups ready to go at a moments notice.

6 Smart Upgrades

Whenever people play games that feature role-playing game elements they're either left with a ton of points they didn't spend, or they're full of regret for dumping them into something useless. In Madden Ultimate Team you're going to have the ability to upgrade cards and improve overalls, but unless you're just giving a player chemistry, it's best to use upgrade points on purple cards that are specifically designated as upgrade cards. These purple cards can improve their overall the most and often allow for the most customization in terms of chemistry and other traits.

5 Build Inside/Out

Many other tips and tricks on this list are non-bias and are based on logic and strategy in terms of getting the most bang for your buck in terms of coins and time investment. This one is based on the idea of having a strong core that can make things easier. After getting your hands on a solid quarterback, which we'll talk about next, you might want to work on both your offensive and defensive lines. The idea here is that a better o-line will protect your quarterback and help the running game, and a strong d-line can take the pressure off of a secondary and also shut down the run.

4 Get A Franchise QB

Locking down a usable quarterback that can make accurate and clutch throws is the #1 early investment you should make. Scoring points is the primary way you're going to win games and having a competent thrower of the ball can mask many of the other deficiencies you have on the offensive side of the ball. If you plan on grinding challenges, many of them are passing based and the better your quarterback is the likelier and easier it is for you to complete them. Like any good franchise, get you a solid starting quarterback then go from there.

3 Grind Challenges

To build up a good collection of coins that we'll later talk about how to most effectively use and spend you're going to have to do one of two things. You'll either have to grind out normal games against a CPU or other humans online, or you can grind solo challenges. These are specific scenarios that task you with accomplishing certain goals to receive a reward. On top of giving multiple difficult levels per challenge, Madden NFL 20 also allows you to load up the next challenge without having to return to the main menu, which saves you a ton of time.

2 The Exchange Sets

Madden Ultimate Team has a category of sets in which you can exchange lower overall players for a pack containing a player of a higher overall. Once you build up a decent collection of cards it's best to use these lower overall players who are just sitting in your collection in these exchange sets and build up the overall of your team without using any of your coins. Early on this is a good way to build a solid foundation of 70 overall players and once you start to pursue players in the 80 overall range these guys can be exchanged for that as well.

1 Players Over Packs

As you grind challenges and win games you'll feel tempted to do what most humans are inclined to do and you'll want to buy a pack to see if you can get lucky and pull a great player. The percentages on this are low and though you can build out a roster early on this way, you have better options. By taking a glance at the auction market you'll find that you can buy several players for the price of a pack and can build up your roster with players you're choosing. The game of chance is tempting, but buy players over packs and you'll be happier in the end.
