The 2021 NFL Season begins tomorrow, and EA Sports is celebrating its arrival with a free-to-play weekend in Madden 22. Head over to your Xbox, PlayStation, or PC to check out the game between September 9 and September 12 and gain free access to everything it has to offer.

If you end up a fan of the game, you'll be able to pick it up at a 25% discount during the free-to-play event. Considering Madden's been on the market less than a month, that's not a bad deal. Our review found it to offer more of the same, although it does make a few big changes to improve upon the action.

“Our entire team is grateful to our players that have been enjoying and engaging with Madden NFL 22 since launch,” Seann Graddy, Executive Producer, EA Sports Madden NFL, said. “We want to give football fans everywhere, who are excited for college football and the start of the NFL Season, the opportunity to play what’s new in Madden NFL 22, from the gamewide impact of Dynamic Gameday to the chance to play with or against friends in our college event in Superstar KO.”

Madden 22 Season Ahead Stats

To coincide with the start of the new NFL season, you can catch Marshawn Lynch and Lil Dicky in "The Kickoff." Hosted by Charissa Thompson, the two stars will play as the Buccaneers and Cowboys in a Madden 22 matchup. The action begins on Thursday at 5:30 pm ET and can be viewed on Twitch or YouTube.

Madden 22 recently added ten iconic college teams to Superstar KO as part of a limited-time Campus Legends event. Powerhouse programs from Nebraska, Michigan State, LSU, USC, and more can all be found in Madden 22 until September 27. Even if you're not the biggest Madden fan on the planet, the unique new mode is reason alone to check out the free-to-play weekend.

Madden 22 will be free between September 9 and September 12.
