In Magic: The Gathering's Commander format, tribal decks are an incredibly popular deck archetype, being easily approachable to new players and varied enough for veterans. While many tribal decks are known for their synergistic nature, no tribe exemplifies this greater than Slivers. Slivers are a creature type found within each color of mana that functions as a legion, with each Sliver providing a universal benefit to all Slivers on the battlefield.

This can make them incredibly difficult to deal with, as removing one sliver from play only deals with a fraction of one's problems. As this tribe is quite popular and powerful, we're going to examine the strongest cards a player can include in their next Sliver deck!

5 Reflections Of Littjara

Reflections of Littjara is an excellent blue enchantment that can provide stellar value when used within the right tribal deck. For five mana, when this enchantment enters the battlefield, its controller chooses a creature type. Whenever its controller casts a spell of that type, its controller copies that spell with copied creature spells taking the form of creature tokens.

As Sliver decks often aim to make a critical mass of Slivers, each of which can provide different benefits, Reflections of Littjara can create more bodies to gain the collective benefits of one's sliver army. This can quite effectively double the value of one's creatures, allowing sizable Sliver board states to be accumulated earlier into a game than one would expect.

4 Kindred Summons

Kindred Discovery is an incredible green sorcery capable of providing a game-winning board state when used later within a Commander game. For the cost of seven mana, Kindred Summons causes its controller to choose a creature type. They then reveal cards from the top of their library until they reveal X cards of the chosen type where X is the number of creatures of that type that they control, putting those cards directly into play.

This card effectively doubles the potency of a player's board state and is especially beneficial within a Sliver deck. Due to the nature of Slivers providing their various benefits to each creature of their kind in play, when Kindred Summons is cast, a player can reliably make use out of the most recent Slivers that were put into play through the use of those that player already controlled.

3 Homing Sliver

Tutors are cards that allow a player to search their library for a specific card, putting it into their hand, providing for notably consistent and flexible gameplay, and potentially ensuring a player has the exact cards that they need. A red Sliver for three mana, Homing Sliver is a 2/2 Sliver with Slivercycling 3 that while in play, provides each Sliver in players' hands with Slivercycling 3 as well.

Slivercycling is an ability which allows the card at hand to be discarded at the cost of three mana, allowing that card's owner to tutor for a Sliver, putting it into their hand. At its worst, Homing Sliver is a three-mana tutor that can allow its owner to access their strongest and most useful Slivers, while at its best, it can allow any Slivers its controller doesn't need to be traded in for the perfect solutions to its controller's problems. For those looking for a great means to improving the consistency of their Slivers, Homing Sliver is well worth considering.

2 Sliver Legion

Sliver Legion is an incredible legendary five-color Sliver that can be the source of massive amounts of damage, easily functioning as the win condition of a Sliver-Tribal deck. While many Slivers offer universal benefits to each sliver such as access to a given keyword or an increase in power, Sliver Legion provides one's Slivers with a proportional buff equal to the number of Slivers a player controls.

This is because as long as it's in play, Sliver Legion provides each Sliver with +1/+1 for each other Sliver on the battlefield, potentially providing a game-winning offense boost. While various Slivers can improve the tribe's offense capabilities, no other card can weaponize one's Slivers as quickly as Sliver Legion.

As Sliver decks are traditionally a five-color affair, Gemhide Sliver and Manaweft Sliver are often among the most integral cards such a deck can contain. Each functioning as low-mana green Slivers, both Gemhide Sliver and Manaweft Sliver allow each of their controller's creatures to be tapped in order to produce one mana of any color.

Not only does this effect provide five-color decks with great mana fixing, it allows each sliver in one's deck to function as mana ramp, significantly raising the utility of even the least imposing of Slivers. As each of these Slivers converts a player's creatures into a stellar form of mana production, Gemhide Sliver and Manaweft Sliver can allow a player to quickly access the strongest Slivers in their hand.
