Wizards of the Coast has made some Magic Online announcements today. Double Masters 2022 is now live in-game with Sealed, Draft, and Phantom Draft Leagues and Limited Preliminary events now available. There's an Adventures in the Forgotten Realms draft starting on Wednesday, and a new list of Magic Online format challenges. And for Pauper players, Magic Online is giving away a bunch of commons from Commander Legends: Battle for Baldur's Gate.

According to Wizards, there are some "supply issues for key Pauper commons from Commander Legends: Battle for Baldur's Gate." Thankfully, since Magic Online is a digital format, Wizards can fix this supply issue with a wave of its all-powerful wand. The fix will involve giving Pauper players two copies of 38 commons from Battle for Baldur's Gate, which will be disseminated to players during the weekly patch scheduled for tomorrow between 9 and 10 AM PT.

To get the cards, you must have participated in either a Pauper League course in 2022 before last Sunday or a Pauper Premier event anytime from July 1, 2021, to July 10, 2022. If you have, you'll get two copies of the following cards:

Cloakwood Swarmkeeper vi Yangtian Li
Cloakwood Swarmkeeper vi Yangtian Li

Arms of Hadar, Atrocious Experiment, Bane's Invoker, Basilisk Gate, Bhaal's Invoker, Black Dragon Gate, Blessed Hippogriff, Blur, Breath Weapon, Bronze Walrus, Chain Devil, Circle of the Land Druid, Citadel Gate, Cliffgate, Cloak of the Bat, Cloakwood Swarmkeeper, Clockwork Fox, Decanter of Endless Water, Dire Mimic, Draconic Lore, Fang Dragon, Goggles of Night, Gray Slaad, Greatsword of Tyr, Heap Gate, Icewind Stalwart, Manor Gate, Mold Folk, Navigation Orb, Nefarious Imp, Nimblewright Schematic, Patron of the Arts, Prized Statue, Roving Harper, Sea Gate, Stirge, Sword Coast Serpent, Winter Eladrin.

Cloakwood Swarmkeeper is definitely a great card to pair with Heap Gate in token decks, and Breath Weapon and Arms of Hadar are fantastic clearing options in Pauper. The multi-tap lands are also must-includes for any non-mono color deck. Let’s hope that these freebies will help disseminate these cards far and wide.
