Magic is celebrating the "Year of the Commander" with two brand new products just for you singleton deck fans.

ChannelFireball annual CommandFest event is going on this weekend for Magic: The Gathering fans who just love playing with 100-card singleton decks. And because Wizards of the Coast has long-since acknowledged Commander's utter dominance of the casual Magic scene, they've decided to cater to Commander fans with two big product announcements.

The first is Commander Collection Green, a sealed box of eight reprinted cards that will arrive in stores (and ONLY in stores part of the Wizards Play Network) on December 5th. These eight cards are all giant Commander bombs that will feature all-new art to make them even more special.

Those cards are:

  • Freyalise, Llanowar’s Fury
  • Omnath, Locus of Mana
  • Bane of Progress
  • Seedborn Muse
  • Sylvan Library
  • Worldly Tutor
  • Sol Ring
  • Command Tower

Six of these cards are staples of any Commander deck with even a hint of green, while Sol Ring and Command Tower are just great Commander cards no matter what deck you're playing.

The other product is Commander Legends, a brand new set and Magic's first full expansion that caters directly to Commander players. It'll have 70 Legendary Creatures, because when you can only have one of any card, who cares if they're Legendary? It'll also come with both draft and booster packs, and yes, that means you will finally be able to play a real Commander draft.

We don't have the full card list for Commander Legends, but we did get a few cards spoiled during CommandFest, including:

  • Sengir, the Dark Baron
  • Alena, Kessig Trapper
  • Halana, Kessig Ranger
  • Commander’s Sphere
  • Command Tower
  • Keeper of the Accord
  • Rejuvenating Springs
  • Spectator Seating
  • Training Center
  • Undergrowth Stadium
  • Vault of Champions
  • Prossh, Skyraider of Kher
  • The Prismatic Piper

Some old classics and some brand new cards to get Commander players excited. You’ll be able to buy Commander Legends everywhere starting November 6th.
