Magic: The Gathering's latest Secret Lair drop is for those who can't attend Magic Con: Philadelphia 2023 in person. Instead, you can pay a whole bunch of money (although probably a smaller amount than you would unless you live within driving distance of the convention) to get all the cool loot that you would have grabbed in Philly.

And there’s a lot of good loot here in the Festival in a Box: Philadelphia 2023 Secret Lair. First, there’s an Atraxa playmat, an Atrax Deckbox, and a set of 100 Atraxa sleeves for everyone who loves the former Mirrodin angel-turned-Phyrexian horror. There are also two possible Commander Decks from Zendikar Rising and Kaldheim, as well as a Traditional Foil Arcane Signet regardless of which Commander decks you pull.

The randomness continues with an entire box of Mystery Booster Convention Edition. This box of 15-card booster packs can contain Magic cards from throughout the game’s history as well as R&D playtest cards that can’t be found anywhere else. Great for Chaos Drafts and potentially filling out a collection, but not so great for trying to build a Standard-legal deck.

But the piece du resistance is the four "LOOK AT THE KITTIES" Secret Lair cards. These four foil cards are alternate art versions of cat-themed Magic cards drawn in Japanese cat artist Tatmepi’s distinctive style. Those cards include Felidar Sovereign, Descendant's Path, Lord Windgrace, and of course, Violent Outburst. Although I have to say, Violent Outburst doesn't seem nearly as violent when it's just adorable cats.

Pre-orders for the Festival in a Box: Philadelphia 2023 are available now with shipping expected on March 10, 2023. You'll need to shell out $269.99 to secure your quartet of Magic kittens.

In other Magic news, if you didn't grab Magic's Warhammer 40K crossover, you'll be out of luck. Magic chief Mark Rosewater confirmed on his blog that there's no plan to reprint any of the unique cards in the Warhammer 40K commander decks anytime soon.
