Mario Kart 8 has been datamined, revealing some of the courses that might be included in the rest of the DLC.

The first new cup from Mario Kart 8's Booster Course Pass released yesterday, adding Coconut Mall, Sky Garden, Paris Promenade, and Ninja Hideaway to the game. The update also added an updated banner image to the game's files, which has been combed through to try and find out what courses might be coming to the game next.

The full banner image shows Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Toad racing across images of maps that are featured in the Booster Course Pass. The images on the banner are incredibly small, but fans have been combing through the new banner to try and identify each course. So far, eight courses have been picked out, enough to make up the next two cups.

So far, the possible list of maps that will be added with the Booster Course Passincludes:

  • New York Minute (Tour)
  • Sydney Sprint (Tour)
  • LA Laps (Tour)
  • Koopa Cape (Wii)
  • Maple Treeway (Wii)
  • Mario Circuit (SNES)
  • Vanilla Lake (SNES)
  • Rainbow Road (3DS)

As you can see from the leaked list, a lot of the maps included in the Booster Course Pass are from Tour, as was the case with the first round of tracks. Mario Kart Wii looks set to have at least two more maps, with Super Mario Kart also getting two. The odd one out here is Mario Kart 7, which might be getting its Rainbow Road added.

The prominence of Tour courses in the Mario Kart 8 DLC has been a source of contention amongst the community ever since the Booster Course Pack was announced. It's perceived by many Mario Kart fans that these maps are much easier to add in and are therefore cheap options.

Some Mario Kart fans also aren't too happy about the current lack of any Double Dash tracks, although that makes some sense considering how that game was tailored to two racers in one kart at a time.
