There are also tips for each board that will help you become the Superstar. From features like switching stars to Piranha Plants that steal coins, here is a guide for everything you need to know about each board in Mario Party Superstars.

Woody Woods Guide

Woody Woods is an easy board to learn after starting Mario Party Superstars; however, a few features make it stand out. You can change pathways by landing on Events Blocks next to arrows or paying Monty Mole a few coins to change every arrow on the board.

There are also two trees that you can activate by walking into the Event Spaces nearby them. The tree near the front of Woody Woods grants extra coins or a second dice roll. However, the second tree near the back of the map does the opposite, so try to land on the first tree while avoiding the second one. You can also speak to a Boo NPC at the back of the map to steal coins for free or steal a star from one of your teammates for 50 coins.

The two most important things to remember while playing on the Woody Woods board are to try to change the arrows in your favor and avoid the tree at the end of the board at all costs. This tree can end up stealing your coins or sending you back a few spots.

Yoshi's Tropical Island Guide

Yoshi's Tropical Island introduced a few important mechanics that majorly affect how you approach each situation. The most unique thing about Yoshi's Tropical Island is that the star moves whenever you land on an Event Space. Bowser and the star switch places when the star moves, so you may have to give Bowser coins if you come in contact with him. You can control the Event Spaces with special types of dice; keep this in mind whenever you visit Toad's Shop.

The other important thing you should know about Yoshi's Tropical Island is that there are Thwomps that will block your way in two different areas, and they won't move until you pay them. You can pay the Thwomps whatever you want; however, any time a Thwomp receives more coins, it will change the minimum coins you have to pay. For example, if you pay the Thwomp ten coins, then every player has to pay the Thwomp ten coins if they want to cross into a different area. These two unique mechanics make traversing Yoshi's Tropical Island challenging; however, you can win the match if you can control the Event Spaces, so focus on getting special types of dice.

Finally, the right section of the map features a Boo NPC that you can speak with to steal your opponent's coins for free or one star for 50 coins.

Horror Land Guide

Horror Land is a complex Mario Party board for a few reasons; however, you can master it if you practice enough. You need to focus on the time of day whenever you make a move because you can only access certain pathways if it's daytime and if you have enough coins to pay to enter the path. Event Blocks primarily control the time, so landing on one can completely destroy your plans.

There are a few points where you can fast travel from the front of the map to the back, which is useful considering the large size of Horror Land. Teleporting costs a few coins, so make sure that you always have a few extra coins just in case. You can also change the time of day at the Mansion and Floating Piano set pieces throughout the board.

There are multiple Boo NPCs that you can speak with to steal coins or a star from other players, and there is a King Boo that you can only access with a Skeleton Key on the right side of the map. King Boo can steal a star from every other player for 150 coins, which is a lot; however, it's manageable if you conserve your coins throughout the match, win mini-games, and have a bit of luck. Buying a Skeleton Key and speaking with King Boo is one of the easiest ways to win a match on Horror Land, and the other Boo NPCs are also useful, although they aren't nearly as powerful.

Space Land Guide

Space Land is a gigantic board, so you may need some guidance on how to win while playing on it. The first thing to note is that you should always watch the countdown in the middle of the map. The countdown displays how many more people can walk into the middle before the Bowser blast activates, stealing all of your coins in the process if you're in its way. Unfortunately, it's hard to avoid this happening to you since it's primarily luck that determines where you are in relation to the blast. However, being aware of the counter at least allows you to plan for a worst-case scenario event.

You or one of your enemies can pay a Patrol to chase down players when they land on an Event Space. The Patrol will force you to move back a few spaces, which can ruin your plans, especially if there's a star nearby. Avoid the Event Spaces if possible, which you can do by using special dice blocks.

There are many different paths to take throughout Space Land, and which one is the best depends on your situation; however, always try to travel to the star or the Boo NPC on the right side of the board, who can steal coins from an enemy for free or a star for 50 coins. Focus on avoiding the Bowser blast and patrols while taking the quickest possible path to the star, using the paths in the middle if necessary.

Peach's Birthday Cake Guide

Mario Party Superstars Peach's Birthday Cake Board from a sky view

Peach's Birthday Cake requires very little strategy compared to other boards because the star is stationary and never moves, along with the fact that there's only one main path in Peach's Birthday Cake. Although luck can help you by rolling higher numbers, coins are what will make you win on Peach's Birthday Cake since you need to have 20 coins to purchase each star.

There are also a couple of Piranha Plants that you can't plant on the bottom floor of Peach's Birthday Cake. The small Piranha Plants steal coins from your enemies and cost five coins to plant. The large Piranha Plant costs 30 coins to plant; however, it can steal stars if your enemy lands on the Piranha Plant's Event Space.

The final and most important mechanic in Peach's Birthday Cake is a shortcut that loops around back to the star much quicker than moving around the usual circle. However, you aren't guaranteed a chance to use this shortcut; instead, you have to play a lottery to see which way you'll move next. If you do get access to the shortcut, then you'll have to speak with Bowser, and he will usually steal some of your coins. This is another situation where having a lot of coins is helpful since, if you don't have many coins, Bowser will take all of the coins you would have spent on your next star. There's a second small shortcut if you land on an Event Space near Toad's Shop; however, it isn't as quick as Bowser's shortcut.
