Avengers: Infinity War was definitely the most highly anticipated superhero film this year, if not the most anticipated film in general. Unsurprisingly, it was a box office smash hit and several Marvel fans were flocking to theaters to see it multiple times. It makes perfect sense that it was so widely regarded as one of the best Marvel films to date. But it left us on such a huge cliffhanger, that even though it just came out a couple months ago, we are already on the edge of our seats wanting to know just what is going to happen to the Avengers next.

Just this month, we were given an early surprise about the follow-up to Infinity War. It seems that there was concept art for Avengers 4 that was leaked and it made Marvel fans everywhere start buzzing with theories and ideas about where the storyline is going to go in the next installment.

While there are some who aren't as quick to believe this is legitimate concept art from the film's studio itself, it does make a compelling case for itself just by looking at the details in the leaked art. Because of how incredibly accurate and authentic this concept art looks, there have been plenty of crazy theories out there that discuss the next film's many possibilities. They are just so crazy...that they just might work.

So if you are chomping at the bit to find out what is going to happen next, look no further, because here are the 25 Crazy Theories About The Leaked Concept Art In Avengers 4. Look away if you do not want to potentially be spoiled.

25 Captain Marvel Is Now A Part Of The Avengers

via Entertainment Box

Sure, this one may have seemed quite inevitable not only because Captain Marvel was a major part of the Avengers in the comics, but also because of the post-credits scene at the end of Infinity War with Nick Fury signaling for her.

But if this concept art is indeed legitimate, then this is confirming the fact that she not only is now a part of the Avengers but is likely an integral part of bringing them together to defeat Thanos.

24 Hulk Becomes Professor Hulk

via movieweb.com

One of the biggest struggles for the Hulk/Bruce Banner is finding balance between the two different sides of himself. But looking at him in this new concept art may mean he finally found the perfect balance.

In fact, he may now be Professor Hulk when we see him in Avengers 4.

This would mean he is taking on the version of him in the comics where both Hulk and Bruce “merged” using Hulk’s brute strength and Banner’s intelligence to become the best version of himself. This is a compelling case judging from his facial expression and look in the art.

23 Hulk’s Familiar Costume

via superherostuff.com

This may seem a bit far-fetched but people are speculating that by looking at the look of Hulk’s new costume, it looks eerily familiar to Quicksilver’s which could mean…he returns.

Yes, it seems out there, but since it has been confirmed that this is going to be a time travel storyline in Avengers 4, it is plausible Quicksilver will make a shocking return and help his fellow superheroes. But how that connects to Hulk having a similar costume is still up in the air.

22 The Avengers’ New Looks

via cbr.com

There a few different members of the team who look different. Cap has shaved his glorious beard, while Hawkeye has gotten a new haircut, and Black Widow is now back to being a redhead.

This has caused some to speculate that a significant amount of time has passed since Infinity War and Avengers 4, seeing as they all have changed up their looks drastically.

Of course, it could just be a part of the time travel aspect of the story, but we’ll have to wait and see.

21 Black Widow And The Captain Are No Longer In Hiding

via FanBolt

This goes along with their new looks, actually. See, both of them had been hiding since the events in Civil War, and while we did see them in Infinity War, they had changed their appearances, presumably to not be noticed.

But now that they are back to both of their classic looks we’ve always known them for, is it possible that since Infinity War, they are no longer fugitives and are able to get out of hiding? That is what a lot of people are speculating, and it does seem like they could be right.

20 A Reconciliation Between Cap And Iron Man

via Letterboxd

In Infinity War, there was little to almost no communication between the former friends who had turned into foes in Civil War. Tony did leave Steve a message to inform him of Thanos, but that was the only communicating that occurred between the two. The rest of the film, Tony was in space while Cap was on Earth.

Maybe Tony and Cap have set their differences aside.

So it stands to reason that looking at this concept art, seeing the two of them fighting alongside each other, would mean they have had an emotional reconciliation causing them to join forces once again.

19 Hawkeye Is Now Ronin

via CBR

Ronin was a version of Clint Barton in the comics after he took over the identity from Maya Lopez. In the comics, his new persona meant he also took on a whole slew of new weapons.

But in this concept art, he may look the part of Ronin (minus the mask) with his new uniform, but he still seems to be keen on using his archery skills first and foremost.

Perhaps in the MCU, Hawkeye had to take on this new identity since he was a wanted man and was trying to protect his family. If they survived the Snap that is...

18 Nebula Is Now In The Fight With The Avengers

via Pinterest

While we may have been aware that Nebula survived the events in Infinity War, we weren’t exactly sure what her role would be in Avengers 4.

Nebula has put her evil past behind her.

Now, though, there are people speculating that she will join the side of the Avengers in the next installment, fighting right alongside all of the heroes. Of course, this may simply be because of Thanos and her hatred for her father, rather than trying to do the right thing, but only time will tell.

17 Cap’s Classic Uniform Is Back

via Comic Book Movie

When we saw Steve Rogers in Infinity War, he had a much different look that we weren’t used to. Aside from the long hair and beard, he was wearing a darker gray uniform and looked beaten-down.

But now, in the Avengers 4 concept art, his uniform is not only back but seems to be improved. He has his signature star on his chest and the red and white and blue color scheme, but he is still missing his beloved shield. Maybe the reconciliation between him and Stark will result in him finally getting that back.

16 War Machine Upgrade

via cbr.com

There are many different looks with the Avengers that are going to take getting used to. But War Machine’s suit upgrade is by far the biggest change yet.

James Rhodes has had several different iterations of the War Machine get-up already in the MCU, but this is definitely the most improved. Looking at this concept art, he now has The Mark V War Machine armor, which is bulkier, and seriously more powerful. He even has a humungous gun propped up on the suit’s back.

Looks like no one is going to want to mess with Rhodey in Avengers 4.

15 Nebula Is Actually Going To Be Another Villain

via Screen Rant

On the other side of the theory spectrum, some fans have been speculating that while we see Nebula here with the Avengers, ready to fight, maybe her plans for Thanos are actually more devious than we originally thought.

Some are saying that once she ends Thanos, she plans to steal the Infinity Gauntlet for herself. We can probably all agree that Nebula having the Infinity Gauntlet could be just as damaging as what Thanos has accomplished thus far, if not more so.

14 Ant-Man Has Returned

via Cosmics - Trendolizer

One of the interesting things about this leaked concept art is who it includes in it, and also who it excludes. But in this instance, we see that Ant-Man has indeed returned to fight with the Avengers, even though he had taken a deal after the events in Civil War to protect himself and his family.

It seems that after Infinity War, he has decided to get into the action himself and help save the universe. But his appearance does raise some other questions…

13 Where Is The Wasp?

via hero.wikia.com

The main question Ant-Man’s appearance raises is the fact he is in this concept art…without the Wasp. With Ant-Man and The Wasp coming out, people are on the edge of their seats waiting to find out if this means that The Wasp has become part of the half of superheroes who met their end at the climax of Infinity War.

The Wasp may have perished.

Since the film is supposed to be taking place both before and during Infinity War, it stands to reason that she could be the one to perish, prompting Ant-Man into action to bring her back.

12 Did Shuri survive?

via Elite Daily

We’ve talked a bit already about the noticeable absences from the concept art, but one of the most anticipated returns has to be Shuri, T’Challa’s highly intelligent younger sister.

The only problem is, she is not seen anywhere in this concept art.

It has been said by the directors that whether she survived the Snap or not is a huge spoiler for Avengers 4, but it is leaving us anxiously waiting to find out whether the fan favorite will be returning or not. We can only hope…

11 M’baku And Okoye’s Absence

via tumblr.com

Speaking of absent fan favorites from Black Panther, where in the world is M’baku and Okoye, who were pivotal parts of Infinity War. We know both of the Wakandan fighters survived Thanos’ infamous snap, with M'baku witnessing his fellow warriors vanishing into dust, and Okoye seeing T'Challa meet his end, so why are they not featured in this leaked concept art?

Does it have to do with why we are not privy to Shuri’s survival? Or maybe they just decided to leave their part of the storyline in Avengers 4 a mystery for now.

10 Where Are Rocket’s Weapons?

via hypebeast.com

The one thing Rocket Raccoon has always been known for, other than the fact he’s a talking raccoon, is the fact he is excellent with weaponry - particularly guns.

Yet, in this concept art, he is seen here “fighting” along with the Avengers, but completely weaponless. This begs the question of why is he going into a fight with no guns on hand, or if he is gained some type of superpowers that we have yet to see. It's doubtful he gained superpowers overnight, but then why is he fighting Thanos with no weapons?

9 Thanos’ New Weapon

via Bounding Into Comics

I think it is safe to say that Thanos is pretty damn powerful already just by wielding the Infinity Gauntlet. So what is truly baffling about this concept art, is that Thanos not only has new armor he is donning but also has a shiny new weapon in tow.

Wouldn't the Infinity Gauntlet be weapon enough?

It is an angular sword of some sort, and it has made people question why in the world he would need the weapon if he already has an Infinity Gauntlet at his disposal.

8 Is The Background Titan?

via releasemama.com

When talking about concept art, sometimes the background tells a lot more about the story than just the characters featured in it. We may not know for sure if that is the case here, but it is interesting to see the background looks intergalactic, and could potentially mean they are headed to Titan.

Maybe this is to rescue Iron Man and Nebula, who were left stranded there. Or they are simply on their way to defeat Thanos once and for all.

7 Or Is The Background The Quantum Realm?

via CBR

We were first introduced to the Quantum Realm in Ant-Man, which is where he went when he was a microscopic particle. It gave us fascinating visuals and helped us further understand the science behind Ant-Man's suit. Ant-Man and the Wasp are supposed to dive further into the Quantum Realm and discuss the connection between it and parallel worlds.

So maybe this is how the Avengers go on their time traveling adventure in the first place? It would make sense that with Ant-Man and the Wasp coming out after Infinity War, it would give us a glimpse into the storyline in Avengers 4.

6 Captain Marvel Has Her Signature Costume On

via MovieWeb

Fans were a little thrown off when set photos first came out from the Captain Marvel set, showing Brie Larson in her costume, but with noticeable differences. It seemed that she would be wearing the costume she inherits from Mar-Vell in the film, rather than her classic look.

But in this concept art, she is seen wearing the suit she is known for, with the red, blue, and yellow color scheme, and it means that Captain Marvel is ready for this big fight that they all have ahead of them.
