Timing is an important piece of the puzzle to consider while strategizing your every move to defeat your opponent in Marvel Snap. Being in the lead lets your cards reveal first, which can be an advantage or disadvantage, depending on the situation. That is why it is important to always think about the cards you have in your hand and what is on the field before placing something.

Ghost can be handy with the right deck. Combine the card with cards that should be revealing last; then, you can give yourself the upper hand. It is especially important when it comes down to the final round, which often makes the biggest difference in losing or winning. No matter your preference, plenty of cards pair well with Ghost to make for the ultimate deck.

Updated on May 23rd, 2023, by Doruk Kaptan: Marvel Snap has been great at introducing cards to the game that support existing archetypes and new ways for cards to be played. One such card is Ghost.

When a card alters the mechanics of the game in any card game, it's worth a look, and Ghost does just that. With the ability to reveal cards last all the time, you can play around problem cards and use more situational cards to greater effect. Here are the best teammates for Ghost.

15 Ghost

Marvel Snap Ghost deck Ghost standard variant

To have a Ghost deck, you need to fully understand the card itself. Your cards are always revealed last, giving you the opportunity to either cause an effect or avoid one from your foe's play in that turn.

Various cards can be played safely, thanks to Ghost. You can strategize around a possible Cosmo for On Reveal cards or an Enchantress for your Ongoing cards. For your higher-powered cards, you can avoid Shang-Chi. Sometimes people play him hastily, which can be in your favor when any nine or higher powered cards show up when the field is safe from destruction.

14 Titania

Marvel Snap Ghost deck Titania standard variant

Titania requires some finessing, as you want to avoid your opponent gaining control of a card with five power. Her hefty power for a 1-cost card makes her a strong play to tip the scales for you to win a location.

The last turn is the best turn to play Titania, ideally. Place her onto your desired location on the sixth turn with Ghost to ensure she stays on your side of the field. She also goes well with anything that fills space quickly, so if the other player pulls out a Brood or a similar card to fill a location fast, Titania can be safe to play, even without Ghost.

13 Zabu

Marvel Snap Ghost deck Zabu standard variant

Zabu may have been nerfed not long after arriving in Marvel Snap, but it is still a handy card, especially if you have any 4-cost cards in your deck that you want to land onto a location.

No matter your Ghost build, you will want some cost-four cards handy. Two of the best cards that pair well with Ghost are Shang-Chi and Enchantress to counter higher-powered or Ongoing cards. Bring those down to be cheaper, and you can have a wider door to use them to your benefit.

12 Polaris

Marvel Snap Stegron deck Polaris standard variant

Positioning can be life or death in Marvel Snap. Polaris moves a single one or two costing card over to its location. If placed right, you can block your foe from playing something stronger to take over that location.

If you see plenty of one or two-cost cards or want to see if any will be played, the Ghost and Polaris combination makes for a mighty duo. You can mess with the other person's plans by moving Ant-Man from a filled location or taking Hood over to subtract a point from the opposing side.

11 Darkhawk

Marvel Snap Ghost deck Darkhawk standard variant

You should not rely too much on cards with On Reveal abilities, so having some Ongoing in your deck can be helpful. Darkhawk can be devastatingly powerful, barring an Enchantress to stop him. If you need that extra power to give you the lead in a location, Darkhawk gaining two power per card in your opponent's deck can stack to become quite the unstoppable force.

If the other player has something like Thanos, who adds cards to the deck with his Infinity Stones, then your Darkhawk will be powerful enough that it's like he has a fully-powered Infinity Gauntlet of his own. Ghost, let's Darkhawk evade Shang-Chi and Enchantress, adding to its consistency. Speaking of Shang-Chi...

10 Shang-Chi

Marvel Snap Ghost deck Shang-Chi standard variant

Shang-Chi is one of the easiest cards to think about when trying to turn the tides. Without Armor to protect other cards, anything at nine or above power is dead if Shang-Chi blasts them into dust. For a last-turn play, it can be the ultimate move.

The problem often seen with Shang-Chi is when you are in the lead and cannot stop a powerful card from being played on the sixth turn. Ghost lets him activate after Hulk comes crashing in or when Thanos comes in with his Infinity Stone boost.

9 Enchantress

Marvel Snap Ghost deck Enchantress standard variant

Ongoing cards can be annoying, and yes, we are saying this when discussing why you should use an Ongoing card like Ghost. Still, combos of Blue Marvel and Onslaught or a stack like Patriot, Blue Marvel, and Ka-Zar can be infuriating to try and stop. Thankfully, Enchantress is there to stop them.

Besides Cosmo blocking all On Reveal abilities, Enchantress is fairly unstoppable when depowering opposing Ongoing cards. No matter the turn, she can be a driving force for a victory. Revealing last allows Enchantress to potentially hit more annoying cards, which makes her a great companion to Ghost. Just remember not to place her in Ghost's location...

8 Sera

Marvel Snap Ghost deck Sera standard variant

No matter your deck, it is hard to resist cheaper cards. Sera makes every card in your hand cost one less. It is a small change in the energy economy, but when used properly, Sera is a game changer.

If you can get her out of your deck early, with a temporary energy boost or via Wave, expensive cards can be played earlier, like your Iron Man being available on turn four to double the power of a location. She can also allow you to throw out some extra one to two-cost cards with your big hitter in the final round. Sera is one of those well-rounded cards that can be used for anything.

7 Magik

Marvel Snap Ghost deck Magik standard variant

Sometimes you have a strategy in your head, but due to a finite amount of energy and only six turns in a match, you are unable to pull off the moves you would like. If you are not on turn six, you can play Magik to manifest a seventh turn after transforming a location into Limbo. The location swap in itself can be beneficial if the previous one is a detriment to your plans.

Magik is a game-warping card and thus has lackluster stats. This means a Cosmo or a Scarlet Witch on the same location can really hurt, making Ghost a great companion to Magik.

6 Thanos

Marvel Snap Ghost deck Thanos standard variant

Thanos starts strong with 11 power and gives you several small utility cards in the form of Infinity Stones. Accompany him with Ghost, then his Infinity Stones' On Reveal abilities can dodge certain bullets or gain usefulness by activating after the opponent.

The various effects, Ongoing and On Reveal, from the Infinity Stones, provide plenty of ways to play the match. From moving your cards to new locations and changing a location to straightforward draw power or extra energy, you can dramatically shift a match to your favor. Ghost protects your Ongoing stones from Killmonger especially.

5 Jubilee

Marvel Snap Agatha Deck Jubilee

Jubilee is an interesting card. Sitting at a weak 4/1 stat line, it seems useless at first glance. Her On Reveal ability summons a random card from your deck, which is not the most reliable. However, she's found great success in gimmicky decks full of high-cost cards for Jubilee to cheat out.

This sort of deck is stopped dead in its tracks when an opponent plays Cosmo to block Jubilee, or Shang-Chi to destroy the summoned, beefy card. Ghost remedies both of those problems, assuring Jubilee does what she's supposed to do.

4 Aero

Aero from Marvel Snap with blurred background

Aero is a bit like Polaris in that she also moves cards your opponent plays to her location. However, she only works on the last enemy card played that turn. This is a very strong effect and could likely prevent a very powerful play from your opponent.

Unlike other cards, though, Aero relies on Ghost more than she appreciates her. Without Ghost, Aero is a very situational, albeit powerful card, but with her, she's an absolute powerhouse.

3 Destruction Cards

Marvel Snap Deadpool Deck Venom classic variant

One archetype that's been around since the game's release and is still going strong is Destruction decks. With incredible power cards such as Knull, Arnim Zola, Venom, and Death, this sort of deck can be found ranking high in each season thus far.

Ghost's delay in card reveal allows destruction cards to potentially destroy annoying cards like Hobgoblin, Rocks from Debrii, and more. Just be careful, as a Ghost/Destroy deck may run into opposing Armor or Cosmo, so you should play more carefully.

2 Hazmat

Marvel Snap Retreat Hazmat

Hazmat is not an amazing card at first sight. On Reveal, she reduces each other card's power by one. However, when combined with the likes of Wong and Odin, especially when your opponent plays a swarming deck, Hazmat can be incredible.

It has already seen some success alongside Luke Cage, and Ghost is yet another great addition to the deck. Hazmat being revealed last means you get to afflict more cards with a minus one power. Simple, yet effective.

1 Gambit

Marvel Snap Agatha Deck Gambit

Gambit is like Hazmat in that the more cards your opponent has, the more powerful it becomes. On Reveal, Gambit has you discard a card and destroy a random enemy card. Just like Hazmat, Gambit combines beautifully with Wong, Mystique, and Odin.

What makes Gambit incredible alongside Ghost are turn six plays. When your Odin on a location with Wong and Gambit reveals after your opponent on turn six, it's very likely that their last turn power card will be destroyed. It's also very enjoyable to win against a completely empty board!
