Marvel Snap is still a developing and adjusting meta, but several strategies and decks have already made a splash on the game's competitive side.

One of these strategies are disruption and stun. The deck aims to prevent your opponent from making power plays and hopefully out-value them in order to win. Many cards in Marvel Snap affect your opponent in some way, and the most powerful of those can be quite a headache. Just be ready for your opponent to retreat once any of these powerful disruptors hit the field.

10 Viper

Viper is an interesting card, for sure. On Reveal, your opponent gains control of one of your other cards at this location. While at first glance, that may seem detrimental, it has some great uses.

Some Cards in Marvel Snap have detrimental effects or awful stats to balance out an excellent effect. In either case, giving your opponent a card that might disrupt their plans, such as Ebony Maw, or a negative attack card like The Hood is quite strong. This could also counter other disruption cards like the Goblins.

9 Spider-Woman

Spider-Woman is as simple as a disruption card gets. On Reveal, this card inflicts all enemy cards at its location with -1 power. That means a potential power swing of four in a filled-up location.

The great thing about Spider-Woman is its power, though. While many disruption cards are not beefy since they rely on abilities and effects, Spider-Woman has a respectable power of seven. Even Abomination, a 5-cost vanilla, has only nine power, making Spider-Woman an excellent value choice.

8 Green Goblin And Hob Goblin

Both Green Goblin and Hobgoblin are incredibly iconic Spider-Man villains. Fortunately, their underhanded tactics and annoying nature has translated beautifully into Marvel Snap. They are both On Reveal cards, and their effects are the same, immediately flying over to your opponent's side and becoming theirs.

While both function the same, Hobgoblin is the better option, without a doubt. Passing a -8 power card to your opponent is extremely valuable. Not only that, but it can also clog up your opponent's board, preventing them from adding beneficial cards to a specific location. Playing this on Bar Sinister and giving your opponent a -32 location that's full is just worth it on its own.

7 Cosmo

Cosmo is potentially one of the cutest cards in the game, sharing the top spot with the likes of Goose. However, in terms of game mechanics, Cosmo can be a nuisance for your opponents if played right.

Cosmo has an Ongoing ability that prevents On Reveal abilities from happening at its location. Currently, On Reveal decks are very potent, with the likes of Wong, Odin, and White Tiger making an appearance. Locking a location out of such abilities is invaluable and could let you guarantee a win there early on.

6 Spider-Man

The good news is, Spider-Man is quite strong in Marvel Snap, so you can absolutely use him if he happens to be one of your favorites.

Spidey has the On Reveal ability to prevent your opponent from playing cards at that location during the next turn. This could instantly win you a location if you play Spider-Man on turn 5. While not showy, Spidey has an ability that could secure a game by itself.

5 Juggernaut

Juggernaut is a really unique and exciting character by comic book standards, also making a name for himself by being one of X-Men's biggest adversaries. Luckily, his Marvel Snap counterpart is just as wild. On Reveal, Juggernaut moves your opponents' cards at the same location played on the same turn to random locations.

Even ignoring how thematically perfect the ability is, Juggernaut is worth considering for a disruption strategy. Marvel Snap is a game all about securing specific locations and making power pushes to sway them your way. By bouncing the opposing cards, Juggernaut can prevent opponents from making a power push at particular locations. That is an excellent ability, for sure.

4 Enchantress

Marvel Snap - Enchantress on a blurred background

This Pool 1 card is straightforward, but that doesn't prevent it from being great. Enchantress removes all Ongoing abilities from a location when she's revealed. That is a good ability, without a doubt, but even more so in the lower ranks and a more Pool 1-oriented meta-game.

Ongoing abilities are pretty common in Pool 1, and one of the most potent combos focuses entirely on them. The 1-Cost buff combo with cards like Kazar, Blue Marvel, and Onslaught is a menace in Pool 1, so disabling such power cards makes Enchantress an excellent disruption tool.

3 Black Widow

A 2/1 card at such a high ranking may seem weird to some, but it all makes sense when you look at Black Widow's ability. On Reveal, this card adds a Widow's Bite to your opponent's hand. Widow's Bite itself is a 0/0, and it prevents drawing from the deck.

Marvel Snap is a fast-paced game that has limited resources. With that being the case, locking your opponent out of a draw and giving them a 0/0 that they have to play if they want to draw is fantastic. This card really exemplifies what a nuisance is.

2 Storm

Marvel Snap Best Pool Two Cards Storm

Speaking of turn value and forcing your opponent's hand, Storm is another excellent example of this. On Reveal, Storm floods the location, and cards can be played there for only one more turn. The first part is already significant, potentially getting rid of an annoying location or changing one that benefits your opponent more than you.

With its turn-limit effect, you can genuinely play some mind games. You should mostly play Storm at a location that you'd be controlling, to begin with. Then, your opponent either has to commit there to win it back or let it go and give you a secure location. Either way, it's sure to throw a wrench in your opponents' plans.

1 Leech

Cards that lock specific other abilities and cards that manipulate the playing field have already been mentioned. However, none of those strategies are foolproof and can be played around to some extent since there are tons of cards with game-changing abilities that could be in your opponents' hands.

With Leech, though, you turn every card in your opponent's hand into no-effect, vanilla cards On Reveal. Since Leech is a 5-cost card, your opponent will be sitting on vanilla and a random draw on their turn 6. This could instantly turn the tides and negate a turn 6 power play from happening. Annoying for the receiving end for sure, but excellent nonetheless.
