Although patches have been implemented to fix glitches post launch, developer Team Ninja still hasn’t found a way to fix the annoying camera in Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3.

Since its arrival, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order has been met with universal praise. The game does a spectacular job at bringing together a diverse cast of Marvel characters and staying true to their source material. The gameplay is fast and chaotic; exactly how it should be. It’s a game fans will be playing well into next year, and we are thoroughly impressed at what they have done. However, the game isn’t perfect. Look at any review on the internet, and you’ll quickly find a common thread…

The camera sucks.

Team Ninja gives players two choices for the camera position in the game. One is Classic mode, and it’s the way previous entries in the series were viewed. It offers a top down shot of the action, capturing all the chaos happening around you. The other is Heroic, which pulls the camera in for a closer, over-the-shoulder appearance. Unfortunately, this angle doesn't always work as intended and falls prey to the several issues; the camera will inexplicably get caught on invisible walls, glitch into weird positions, or refuse to let the player manipulate it without any warning.

Hopefully this is something Team Ninja is working on and will patch in the future. The camera has been an problem for this series since the beginning; it should be fixed by the third game. Granted, it can be hard to get the viewpoint right for top down games, especially those as action packed as MUA3. That being said, Diablo 3 was able to pull it off, so there is hope for this game, too. One factor that attributes to this disparity is that Diablo 3 doesn’t let players move the camera 360 degrees, while Marvel Ultimate Alliance does. This might be what is causing the issue, as anticipating all the ways players can alter the camera across all levels is no small feat.

If Team Ninja can make such an impressive game when expectations were so high, we know they can fix a tiny camera glitch.
