For Marvel fans who also happen to be avid board game players, it’s time to get excited.

Marvel United - an upcoming fast-paced, cooperative board game from tabletop game developers CMON and Spin Master Games - kicked off its Kickstarter campaign on February 11th, and impressively (though perhaps unsurprisingly) hit its funding goal of $150,000 within a mere 31-minutes of going live.

Marvel United features co-op gameplay in which players take on the roles of Marvel’s mightiest superheroes, banding together to put a stop to some of the most evil and dangerous villains in the Marvel universe. The game is developed by Eric M. Lang and Andrea Chiarvesi, with illustrator and character designer, Edouard Guiton, responsible for the designs of the hero and villain sculpt pieces.

The game is played by players adding villain and hero cards to the storyline, while Masterplan cards dictate the villain’s moves and how his schemes unfold. Hero cards can then be united for using special powers to save civilians, clear threats, and thwart the villain’s plans.

In addition to the cards and game board components, $60 backers will receive five hero sculpts (Captain America, Hulk, Iron Man, Captain Marvel, Black Widow) and three villain sculpts (Red Skull, Ultron, Taskmaster), while receiving the Kickstarter exclusives of Nick Fury, Hawkeye, Iron Fist, Mockingbird, Luke Cage, Moonknight, Black Cat, War Machine, Ms. Marvel, Shang Chi, Blade, Corvus Glaive, and Bullseye.

While it’s amazing that the Kickstarter campaign’s funding goal hit so quickly, what’s more impressive is that (at the time of this writing) the campaign-backed funds are already sitting at over 3.5x that of the original amount. Currently funded at over $550,000, nearly all of the campaign's stretch goals have been unlocked, with the M.O.D.O.K. villain sculpt being the only stretch goal remaining. That goal, which unlocks at the campaign being funded at $580,000, is no doubt soon to become a reality as well.

For an additional $30, players can receive The Infinity Gauntlet Kickstarter-exclusive pack featuring Thanos, Proxima Midnight, Ebony Maw, and Black Dwarf. Honestly, considering everything else you’re already getting, an additional $30 for the extra pack seems like a no-brainer.

The Marvel United kickstarter is running now through March 4th, ending at 7pm EST. The base game is scheduled to be delivered to backers at the same time the game hits retail shelves in Fall 2020, with any stretch goals and Kickstarter-exclusives to be delivered soon after.
