Marvel's Avengers may feature a variety of your favourite superheroes, but none of them look like their MCU counterparts - except for maybe Bruce Banner when he's in Hulk mode.

Recently, one fan decided to impose an impressive deepfake on the game, attempting to find out what the aesthetic would be like if Thor looked liked Chris Hemsworth and Black Widow looked like Scarlett Johansson. These are characters people have become intimately familiar since the inaugural Iron Man film debuted 12 years ago, so it's an interesting experiment.

You can check out the deepfake video below, which imagines Robert Downey Jr. and co. in video game form.

The video comes from a YouTuber called BabyZone. After about a minute or so of introduction, which features stills of each actor's likeness deepfaked onto their corresponding superhero in the game, you get to see the experiment in motion.

First up is Chris Evans, reprising his role as Captain America on the campaign difficulty screen. Evans has become somewhat synonymous with the iconic hero in contemporary cinema, so the degree of strangeness derived from Crystal Dynamics' new take on the hero is pretty much nullified by the deepfake.

Evans is followed by Johansson and Hemsworth, reprising their roles as Black Widow and Thor, respectively. Although a deepfake of Mark Ruffalo is also imposed on the game's depiction of Bruce Banner, it's not quite as clean as the other three - in fairness, Captain America is significantly easier given that half of his face is hidden by a mask.

When Robert Downey Jr. shows up though, the difference is uncanny. Although his hair is slightly longer, his visage is near-identical to his real-life appearance, and the fact he speaks with a different voice is just... weird.

So yeah, if you were curious about what the MCU's iconic depictions of each hero would look like if they were implemented into Marvel's Avengers, check out the video above. Personally, I reckon the MCU's current roster has ran its course, and new iterations on Marvel's heroes are more than welcome. Still, it's interesting to see what Marvel's Avengers could have looked like if it served as a direct follow-up to Endgame.
