Marvel's Avengers could one day be filled with heroes adorned in Santa outfits and Halloween costumes, as the developers have revealed during a Reddit AMA that seasonal events will be happening in the game, though their exact form has yet to be determined.
Marvel's Avengers is an upcoming action RPG that is set in a similar universe to the MCU. The Avengers are forced to split up at the start of the game when an event known as A-Day destroys most of San Francisco, killing Captain America in the process. This was due to a Terrigan crystal being detonated by terrorists. Years later, the team is reformed by Ms. Marvel, who learns that someone was pulling the string behind the events of A-Day.
A Reddit AMA was recently held with the developers of Marvel's Avengers, with Philippe Therien and Lauryn Ash answering fan questions about the game. They revealed that seasonal events will be coming to the game in the future, following a question about emotes and outfits.
We are looking into that, the short answer is yes but not for everything so we are making a list of what that is. Some will be revealed when these events happen however...so you have to be patient!
We know that Marvel's Avengers is due to receive a lot of post-launch content, including new characters and missions, which will be added to the game for no extra charge. The first of the new characters is Hawkeye and more will be coming in the future. We also know that the game will feature a lot of costumes, so it's no surprise to learn that we could see Christmas or Halloween outfits in the future, especially as the game will be launching on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X during the holiday season.
The developers of Marvel's Avengers have promised that it will receive support for years after launch, and season events seem like an easy addition to the game. It remains to be seen which holidays will be celebrated with events, as even the devs haven't made up their minds yet.
Marvel's Avengers will be available for PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Stadia on September 4, 2020, and launch for PS5 and Xbox Series X in Q4 2020.
