In August, Crystal Dynamics revealed that The Winter Soldier would be coming to Marvel's Avengers in Update 2.6 and, finally, we have a date. He's arriving on November 29 and we have our first proper look at him, not obscured by dark lighting. The 2.7 update also brings the Cloning Lab Omega-Level Threat. The general plot revolves around MODOK who was revived by Monica. She couldn't keep him under control and so he took over AIM's Cloning Lab - in this "new end-game challenge", you'll go head-to-head with MODOK who has changed a lot since we last saw him in the single-player campaign.RELATED: Maybe Not All Marvel Movies Should End With A Big FightThe Winter Soldier will be played by Scott Porter who also played the role in Lego Marvel's Avengers. "The product of a Soviet black science program, The Winter Soldier emerged as a master assassin," the announcement reads. "He adds to the roster an almost purely assault-focused hero focused on dealing damage to his enemies in a variety of ways."

He draws a lot from past training partners Captain America and Black Widow, but he has made their move-set "his own and combined them with skills that flow from his Winter Soldier indoctrination and his cybernetic enhancements." There are new animations, a new skill tree, and new abilities.

The blog post ends with a note on what we can expect from Marvel's Avengers beyond this update, though it doesn't give too much away. What it does say reiterates that the team wants to "ensure that each and every Hero feels as fully heroic as one of the Earth's Mightiest Heroes should." Closer to the update's launch, we can also expect a further look at the Cloning Lab and new outfits.
