Despite being out for a while now, less than 6% of the community has the coveted platinum trophy in Mass Effect: Andromeda. In light of the announcement that the next Mass Effect game is in the works, now is the perfect time to polish off those final nagging achievements that have eluded your grasp.

But don't forget that there is a reason they are elusive. Playing through the game again and hoping any of these get fulfilled is not a great idea. These achievements take effort, some because they are hard, others because they are obscure. So let's take a look at the top ten trophies that still leave players scratching their heads.

Thanks go to PSN Profiles for their work in getting specific data for how many users have completed each achievement.

Vanguard Surprise – 12.88%

Mass Effect Andromeda Vanguard Ryder Going Invisible Before Charging
Mass Effect Andromeda Vanguard Ryder Going Invisible Before Charging
  • While cloaked, hit an enemy with a charge attack.

This one isn't too tricky, in fact, anyone with a Vanguard build might have got this by accident. But if you played as a Soldier or a Biotic, you likely would never have accomplished this feat.

You just need two skills and they can even be at their first level. The first is the tactical cloak from the Tech branch and the next is the Charge skill from the Biotics branch. After that, just make sure to execute the combo in the right order. Go invisible, target and enemy, use charge, and you'll be all set.

Friendly Fire – 11.66%

Mass Effect Andromeda Commanding Remnant VI To Attack An Assembler
Mass Effect Andromeda Commanding Remnant VI To Attack An Assembler
  • Direct your Remnant VI to attack each type of Remnant enemy.

This is a specific move that is only listed as "Unknown" until you complete Peebee's secret mission. Keep checking your terminal and looking for the e-mail. After acquiring the skill, learn it. It's not enough to have your Remnant VI fire on the enemy, though. You'll have to manually command it to attack the following units: Breacher, Observer, Assembler, Nullifier, Destroyer, and Architect.

Rough Landing – 10.82%

Mass Effect Andromeda Throwing Enemy Onto A Trip Mine
Mass Effect Andromeda Throwing Enemy Onto A Trip Mine
  • Detonate a trip mine with a thrown enemy.

This can be done very early on in the game, but the move combination is hard to execute. Thankfully, you only need to do it once to check off this box. Toss a trip mine down, then angle around until your throw ability would land the enemy unit on the trip mine.  If you have pull and throw, you can pick up an enemy, move, and toss them perfectly into the mine.

Fastball – 10.64%

Mass Effect Andromeda Throwing Enemy At Another Enemy
Mass Effect Andromeda Throwing Enemy At Another Enemy
  • Hit an enemy with a thrown enemy 25 times.

Much like the last achievement, this is made much easier with both the pull and throw abilities so you can line up your tosses. Unlike that one, however, you'll have to execute this move 25 times before getting the achievement.

Matchmaker – 10.55%

Mass Effect Andromeda Female Ryder Romance Scene With Peebee
Mass Effect Andromeda Female Ryder Romance Scene With Peebee
  • Complete romances with three characters across all playthroughs.

It is possible to have three romances in a single playthrough. Males can kiss Avela, romance Peebee, then cheat with Keri; meanwhile, females can romance Jaal while flirting with Peebee, then romance Peebee, then have a fling with Keri. It's scandalous and if you don't like breaking hearts, make sure to have a save file to undo the broken hearts you've caused.

Sucker Punch – 10.27%

Mass Effect Andromeda Singularity Suspending An Enemy In Midair
Mass Effect Andromeda Singularity Suspending An Enemy In Midair
  • Use a melee attack to hit 25 floating enemies.

The easiest way to do this is to research singularity and then punch whoever you hit with it like a floating piñata. If you've really got talent and timing, it will also count if you pull and punch them as they fly toward you.

Unwavering – 9.94%

Mass Effect Andromeda Extracting Team From Mission
Mass Effect Andromeda Extracting Team From Mission
  • Complete an "Insanity" single-player game or five Gold multiplayer extractions from any firebase.

If you've got the skills and you have a few days to spare, go ahead and do the single-player game on Insanity. If you would like to shorten that time to an hour and a half, the multiplayer is by far the way to go. Gold isn't even the hardest setting and most squads can carry a brand new player on this setting without a problem.

Hang Time – 9.65%

Mass Effect Andromeda Ramping The Nomad Into A Chasm
Mass Effect Andromeda Ramping The Nomad Into A Chasm
  • Keep the Nomad airborne for 35 seconds.

Do not even attempt this before upgrading the Nomad. Specifically, the boost, suspension, and vertical thrust will all contribute to catching more air time. Next, head to H-047c; the reduced gravity is going to do wonders. Next, look for that canyon in the middle. It's instant death if you fail, but if you've got moxie, notice that there are a few ramps just daring you to make the leap over the chasm.

Alternate between thrusters and boost for maximum effect. If you're still not getting it, go ahead and ramp off into the valley itself. You'll "die" (which really just means you'll respawn where you jumped off). Plus, it will buy you the few extra seconds of hang time that you need for this trophy.

High Performace – 8.44%

Mass Effect Andromeda Ryder At The Respec Station
Mass Effect Andromeda Ryder At The Respec Station
  • Unlock rank 6 for each single-player profile type, or obtain a level 6 multiplayer bonus stat.

Even seasoned veterans of multiplayer will tell you that getting level 6 in a bonus stat is going to take at least a week of dedicated playing. That's OK, the single-player makes it easy if you've got a few credits handy.

Head to the Re-Spec Station and reset in between each step: Put 232 points into Combat, then 232 points into Tech, then 232 points into Biotics, and then split 78 points into each. After that, split 116 points between Combat and Tech, then split 116 points between Combat and Biotics, and finally split 116 points between Tech and Biotics. If you can't afford it, just load the game in between each step.

Cryptographer – 6.73%

Mass Effect Andromeda Ryder Scanning A Puzzle Piece
Mass Effect Andromeda Ryder Scanning A Puzzle Piece
  • Complete 20 Remnant puzzles in a single playthrough.

There is a good reason for this being the hardest of all the trophies (besides the platinum one, of course). You cannot go back and some of the puzzles are missable. So you will have to start all over again if you've beaten the game.

Keep track of the puzzles as you go: There are five on EOS, three on Havarl, six on Voeld, one on H-047c, two on Kadara, five on Elaaden, and one on Khi Tasira. That's a total of 22, so there is a little bit of leeway if you really are struggling to find one or two.
