Every year, Mass Effect fans wait in anticipation of any new announcements that might be unveiled for N7 Day — that's November 7th for those who don't know, a date that the Mass Effect fandom has adopted. While the celebrations today seemed rather lackluster at first, it seems that BioWare was keeping the best news for last as it recently teased some new artwork for the next Mass Effect game on Twitter.

The key artwork shared on the official Mass Effect account shows a party of four walking into a crater that bears a striking resemblance to the head of a Geth, accompanied by the words "Mass Effect Will Continue". This leads fans to believe that the next installment to the series will heavily revolve around the Geth, which has kickstarted a slew of fan theories given the various possible outcomes for the Geth in Mass Effect 3.

While it's hard to make out much about the four characters in the image as they are viewed from above, one thing is clear — one of these characters appears to be a Krogan. Could this be our first look at the next party of Mass Effect characters? It also seems that the characters are walking towards something within the crater, with many believing it to be a Geth corpse and speculating that it could even be the body of Legion.

Fans have quickly responded to the tweet expressing their hopes that this new title will see the return of Shepard, the protagonist for the first three games. This response is fairly understandable given the divided reception fans had to Mass Effect Andromeda, but instead of going back to the old reliable fan-favorite, perhaps this new game could be BioWare's second chance at successfully stepping away from Shepard.

In other N7 Day news, you can snap up the Mass Effect: Legendary Edition for just $33, but only on the Steam, Origin, and Microsoft stores. Additionally, a whole range of new Mass Effect merchandise has been added to the Bioware gear store, including a Paragon medal of honor so you can showcase your goody-two-shoes morals in style. Regrettably, we're still waiting on a Renegade version.
