While it has been years since Shepard's story ended, they are nowhere near forgotten. The space commander is still one of the most beloved video game protagonists out there. This is because they were different for every player. Shepard could be a man or woman, good or evil, and their fate changed depending on the players' choices.

Here are ten pieces of fan art of Shepard that we loved. Please check out any attached links as well, as the artists deserve credit.

10 Shepard And Garrus With Baby

The artist for this piece is Rossilyn. They have pointed out that the baby turian is adopted. It has been pointed out that genetics are probably not in Garrus and Shepard's favor when it comes to having a half-human and half-turian baby.

Garrus and Shepard are the most popular couple in the series. He only became romanceable in Mass Effect 2 because so many fans loved him in the first game. Thank you Bioware, for letting us romance the aliens.

9 Shepard With Tali

Unfortunately, the artist for this amazing piece could not be located on the internet. It is awesome though! Shepard and Tali each have a beverage and are having a great time watching space fleets go by.

It is likely that this fan art was made after the third game since we can see Tali's face through her mask. How she looked was revealed in the third game if you romance her. Of course, the artist could also just be a lucky guesser when it comes to Tali's design.

8 Parody Of Creation Of Adam

This image is one of a huge pile of Creation of Adam parody pieces. The artist could not be found, but the image is familiar to many. This is because it is based on the famous painting, The Creation of Adam by Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni.

While this one is about Shepard and Mass Effect characters, you can find a version of this painting for many other fandoms. It was a meme for a while.

7 Default FemShep

This gorgeous artwork of Mass Effect 3's default female Shepard is by Smilika. Even those who do not usually like the default version have commented on this artists' piece that they love her in this fan art. The colors are beautiful and really give a sense of warmth.

To make this portrait, the artist used tools like Photshop Cs5 and Sai.

6 Bioshock And Mass Effect Crossover

This crossover fan art was done by Charlie Wilcher. Their work is definitely worth checking out, as they have also done cool fan art for Fallout, Batman, The Walking Dead, and Skyrim.

The artist actually shared a cool fact about Shepard with this art. Rosaline Lutece was voice acted by the same voice actress as female Shepard, Jennifer Hale! Maybe that is part of what inspired them to draw this crossover? As you can see, male Shepard is holding a board with the three different endings players picked from at the end of the trilogy.

5 Shepard's Farewell

This fan art was made by Eddy-Shinjuku. According to them, they made this art with a desire to give Shepard a Final Fantasy style of ending. In most of the endings in the trilogy, Shepard sacrifices themselves for the good of the galaxy and this art is a representation of that with a lot of grace.

A lot of the third game is about letting go, at least that's the case if you choose the blue and green endings. This art shows Shepard letting go and being at peace with her choice.

4 Shepard And Jack

Made by Alex Gorodetsky, this fan art pays homage to one of Jack's romance scenes in Mass Effect 2. Male Shepard fan art is actually way less popular than female Shepard (probably because he is not as pretty), so it is nice to see him represented. Based on the scars on his face, he seems to be renegade, which means he makes more brutal and less forgiving choices.

Jack is a fan favorite because she has a interesting backstory and has some of the most character development between the second and third games. Also, her character design is awesome.

3 Shepard Portrait

Made by Magicna Anavi, this female Shepard portrait has a beautiful stark contrast between her red hair and the blue background. Like some other pieces, this appears to be the default female Shepard from the third game.

The artist is very skilled in female characters, as she has also done portraits of a lot of Disney princesses such as Kida from Atlantis and Ariel from The Little Mermaid. She as also done Raven from Teen Titans, Samus from Metroid, Korra from The Legend of Korra, Jack Frost from Rise of the Guardians, and Elizabeth from Bioshock.

2 Post-Game With Kaiden

This piece was created by Andrew Ryan Art. Besides Mass Effect art, he has also done fan art for Dragon Age, Dune, Final Fantasy, and Gears of War.

According to the artist, this fan art is his personal conclusion to Shepard's story. He picked the red destroy ending, which is the only ending where Shepard can possibly survive. All fans got to hint that was a quick cutscene of Shepard's torso taking a breath among rubble. The artist is definitely not alone in terms of making fan art for post-game content. A lot of fans wanted more, so they decided to create their own content.

1 Pop Art Style

This colorful rendition was made by Muju. Her art is crazy talented, and she has done plenty of female Shepards in various colorful styles. In all of the art, she gets Shepard to look like a fierce warrior. According to the artist, this piece only took them two hours to complete, and it was just to relax! If you like this art, then definitely check out theirother ones of female Shepard.

Other fan art Muju has done includes characters from Overwatch, Final Fantasy, Tokyo Ghoul, Kill la Kill, and Attack on Titan.
