Bandai Namco has announced that Master Roshi, Kung Fu master of the Dragon Ball universe, will be joining the roster of Dragon Ball FighterZ on September 18, 2020. If you own the third season pass for Arc System Works' excellent fighter, you'll get Roshi a few days early on September 16.

More than just a joke fighter, Roshi seems capable of using one of his supers to snap opponents out. There's likely some kind of cooldown timer on the move, but it seems he'll be a deadly addition to your team once you figure out his specific quirks. Also, buff Roshi exists and that's awesome.

Master Roshi will be the third character added in Dragon Ball FighterZ's third season pass. With two more characters left, Bandai Namco has a lot of options it could bring to the table. Will we finally see the inclusion of Goku's brother, Raditz? Will Mr. Satan get some representation after all these years? Will there be yet another Goku? I think I'd cry if Super Saiyan 3 Goku ended up on the roster.

What I'd really like to hear is how the online situation will be handled. In the recent Japanese Fighting Game Developer roundtable, Bandai Namco specifically mentioned how rollback netcode would be next to impossible to implement into the current FighterZ build. That doesn't mean there can't be improvements, but an eventual sequel will be where we see dramatically tweaked netcode. Still, any word on how the team is hoping to address the lag and disconnect issues would be nice.
