The rumors were true! Warner Brothers was indeed working on a brand new brawler called MultiVersus to compete with Smash Bros. and Nickelodeon's All-Star Brawl. It'll feature iconic WB characters like Bugs Bunny, Batman, Tom & Jerry, and Arya Stark from Game of Thrones, and it'll be launching sometime next year.

But the big difference between MultiVersus and All-Star Brawl is that MultiVersus will be fully voiced from the start, and it's also going to have a lot of big-name voice actors bringing each character to life. For example, the voice of Shaggy will be played by none other than Matthew Lillard, the same actor who's been playing Shaggy since 2002's Scooby-Doo film.

Lillard won't be alone of course. Tara Strong will play Harley Quinn in MultiVersus, a voice she'll also portray in the upcoming Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. George Newbern will play Superman and Kevin Conroy will reprise his role as Batman, a role he's been playing since the animated series of the early 1990s.

Jeremy Shada returns as Finn from Adventure Time, Masia Williams is back as Arya Stark, and Estelle will reprise her role as Garnet from Steven Universe. Expect more big names to drop on the MultiVersus Twitter channel as more characters are revealed for the game.

If you haven't seen it already, Player First Games released a trailer of MultiVersus, with co-founder and game director Tony Huynh revealing a game that's been two years in the making.

"This is our take on the competitive platform fighter," said Huynh, noting that it's not just voice talent that'll set MultiVersus apart. A focus on team-based brawling with 2v2 game modes and team play character moves will make MultiVersus a bit more cooperative than Smash or All-Star Brawl. It'll also have dedicated servers, rollback netcode, and best of all, Ultra Instinct Shaggy.
