When it comes to the scariest Pokemon you can find in Scarlet & Violet, all of the usual contenders will probably spring to mind. Dragonite and Garchomp are both pretty strong contenders, and there's Houndstone and Flutter Mane for the newcomers, both of which were recently banned from competitive OU battling for being far too powerful. However, there's one Pokemon out there that's secretly terrifying that has flown under everyone's radar.

Tandemaus might be one of the cutest new Pokemon out there, but its evolution is anything but in battle. As explained by TikTok user hopcatsmash (thanks GamesRadar), Maushold gains access to a move called Population Bomb when it reaches level 53, a move that is far deadlier than it sounds. Population Bomb is a multi-attack move with 20 power that has the chance to hit a maximum of 10 times if it doesn't miss. The only downside to it is that it has 90 percent accuracy.

However, give Maushold a Wide Lens to improve the move's accuracy to 99 percent and you have an almost guaranteed 10-hit move that deals 200 damage. To make Maushold even scarier, if you can get its hidden ability Technician - which doubles the power of all moves that deal less than 60 damage - you can increase the damage of Population Bomb up to 400.

Couple all of that with Pokemon Scarlet & Violet's new Tera mechanic which can significantly boost the power of move types and you have a very speedy Pokemon with a move that can deal 600 damage at a time. With that kind of power, Maushold could sweep even the strongest teams out there, and makes the base game an absolute joke at the very least.

Thankfully, hidden abilities are pretty tricky to get in-game, but there's potential that Maushold could get either banned or become a staple of competitive Pokemon with this tactic. So, if you're ever playing Pokemon Showdown and someone comes at you with a Maushold, don't you dare underestimate that cute little family of mice.
